I call in here for a meal whenever I'm in the area and I want good food, a quality drink, a cheerful welcome, and excellent value for money. A Greene King pub, large menu, very good service ( well done, Jasmine, even tho' you're new ! ), and ALWAYS a pleasure to eat here.

I reviewed this pub some time ago and gave it 3*. There has been a new landlord in place and I am happy to report things are much better. There is always a good guest ale on now and the food is better too. I had the mixed grill last time and it was great.

A pleasant surprise as I always think this place looks a bit grotty from the oustide with large posters advertising various cheap-ish meals, 2 for 1 etc. We popped in for a mid week evening bite to eat. Procedure here is you find a table, look at the menu and then go up to the bar and order. We had... More

Visited this restaurant 16th July with my family ... Served buy lovely lady called Donna. She made our entire Visit from start to finish welcoming and enjoyable ( and we wasn't the easiest of tables in a busy restaurant) food was amazing and succulent . We shall definitely be returning. Even my 90 year old mother wants to return

Another great afternoon spent at the Duke with my parents and sister. 3 of us had the chicken supreme with a lovely red wine and taragon sauce, we were extremely impressed with this dish, the other 2 dishes ordered were fish and chips which were huge portions and my dad struggled to eat it. The staff were as always very friendly... More

Visited last week while trying to entertain the in laws, was a quiet Monday night, staff were friendly enough, ordered up our food which did take a while for a quiet night, I had the Scampi which was absolutely fine. Restaurant area had quite a nice feel to it. Do prefer just popping in for a drink from time to... More

Called in here after getting stuck in traffic for several hours and in dire need of food! We had no idea what to expect, but very pleasantly surprised. I initially felt, looking at the menu that it was slightly overpriced for a pub menu, however when the food came out to us, I couldn't believe the amount of food! We... More
