A unique steakhouse experience: At Miller & Carter we know a thing or two about steak. In fact, we could say that we're one of the best steakhouses in Essex. But we'd rather leave that to your judgement. Because once you've tasted our hand-cut, 28-day aged British steaks you'll soon appreciate the care of our farmers, the exacting standards of our butchers and the passion of our chefs. Don't just take our word for it; book a table and decide for yourself. You'll find us at the heart of Epping Forest, near Theydon Bois golf club and High Beech and within easy access of the M25 J26. The best of British beef: Our premium-graded British beef is reared on carefully selected, sustainable farms. So whichever your favourite cut, we can trace every forkful back to the field. Looking foward to seeing you there Chris and the Epping Team

Friday Night Dinner 5-2-16

Decided to go for a Steak Dinner with Dad, on a busyish Friday Night. We were served by a charming young lady named Vicky, she was very attentive not pushy and answered a couple of questions regarding an Expensive/Special Steak on the menu for me. I opted for the 8oz Fillet Medium Rare, which was... read more

Been a couple of times and would strongly recommend here! By far the best steak I've had and they do something called an onion loaf which is sooooooo nice! On our last visit our meal was taking longer than usual which we hadn't noticed as we was talking and was given complimentary drinks as a sorry.

Came here for exactly that! Sunday lunch then turned into Sunday dinner! We waited SO long and I'd only ordered a salad! The drinks arrived fairly quickly, as did the duck roll starters. The duck rolls were ok, nothing special and not really worth the money. I expected 4 mini rolls rather that just 2 served on wilted lettuce leaves!... More

Visited with a friend on a Wednesday afternoon. Quite busy. Saw a lady get fish and chips and it looked great so opted for that, my friend went for a steak. The fish batter was very soggy, my friends steak was not very nice and he left most of it. Service was great, very attentive staff who dealt with us,... More

I went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening. We got seated quickly as we had booked the table already. We had to wait a longtime to get our order taken for the drinks as there were staff literally running around the building. The staff member for my table was very short in his response which came across aggressive .... More

The staff are friendly, but service is slow not the fault of staff but the amount of tables they have to wait. Tables are far to close together to accommodate as many people as possible, making it a uncomfortable eating experience. Food is of below to average standard, poor value and small portions.

Went to this restaurant when it's 1st opened a few times, wasn't that impressed but decided to give it another go having been to another miller& Carter recently. Had to wait for a table but that was fine because the bar area is the best thing about the place. Although our waitress was really nice but my 'well done' steak... More

I attended on a Saturday with my hubby. We didn't book and decided to just show up. Staff were really accommodating, found us a table straight away. I decided to sample the cocktails.....absolutely devine!!!!! Well worth the cost. We ordered the pork glazed and the scallops for starters....very tasty!!! Both highly recommeneded. For mains we ordered the fillet steak with... More

We really liked this place. The decor and ambience is really nice and a nice location with plenty of parking. The starters were great and the steak was really good quality steak and cooked to my liking. Had a cheeky surf and turf side which was good. The staff were all friendly but the service was a little on the... More

£25 for a bone in rib eye bit Exy. Wine overpriced but ok. Service very good. Meals were well cooked and quite good. Party of 8 and food was ok. Starters arrived a bit random. Mains were nice. My bone in 48 aged rib eye was very nice but £25 was a bit ott. Ok and no complaint. Bit dear.
