Excellent service and delicious food and timing. They even had great food to accommodate our vegan eaters. :) We had pre-ordered our food for our group or 12, and it was ready and on the table exactly on time when we arrived. I had made...More
My wife wanted Roast and I’m watching calories. And the Lamb roast was superb but better still the salmon salald was above and beyond. Great food, great service - introduce yourself to Jonty and the Landlord will ensure your fulfilment
Just home from our trip to Hartfield where we had Sunday lunch in the anchor
Meat was lovely but the rest was a mere picture on a plate
3 potatoes, 3 weenie carrots and 2 cubes of parsnip does not constitute a Sunday roast

What a fantastic meal, completely original menu the food was excellently presented and tasted out of this world. A mix between Heston Blumenthal and a top notch London restaurant. Serving staff were very attentive, but were not OTT. Well done and thankyou. I will await...More
We booked in here for lunch between picking up a new car at nearby Wych Cross and taking the dog for a walk in Ashdown Forest in the afternoon. As we had our golden retriever in tow we ate in the bar area.
We had a wonderful evening and the staff at the anchor could not be more friendly and accommodating. There were 25 of us and nobody had a negative comment to make about the atmosphere or the food which was exceptional. I have stopped going out...More
Went with a couple of friends on a Monday night for dinner. Food at best average, pub quiet and lacking atmosphere (was a Monday). Service OK, just. New owner apparently. They need to "shake the place up" a whole lot more.
