I visited for the breakfast which cost £4 odd plus coffee. I didn't expect to be impressed for that money. However I was surprised. The food laid out in the servery was fresh and hot. There were sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, chips, beans, fried bread and tomatoes. White bread to toast, with marmalade and jam.... More

My wife and my good self sadly have closed the available window left wide open for this fine establishment's "annual" weekly however only on Wednesday "Curry & a pint event. Curry was ok, possibly last nights leftovers, who knows, hardly the "Taj Mahal" in Wolverhampton High Street, although as far as value for money is concerned, have tasted worse, but... More

Used to love visiting this establishment for breakfast on my way to Hastings. But standards have slipped. Tables uncleared, food all over the place... They have added the facility for people to make their own toast - which people obviously do out of greed - but then don't eat - so uneaten toast all over the place. The fact I... More

Total rubbish service ... Went several months ago and food was over cooked and dry ... Gammon and beef was so chewy.. Went back last week and was told that restaurant had just closed because a kitchen assistant had walked out and if I had a drink for 10mins they might re open it... I went for food not a... More

We visited this restaurant last night for my mums birthday . We were running late as my son was in a football tournament in tunbridge wells so we arrived at aprox 8.45pm I was happy that we would still get a carvery as I had checked the website that said the pub was open until 11pm and food was served... Revisited this restaurant again to see if it has improved. Disappointed as it was worse. We visited at 7.30pm. My main complaint is with the service and actions of staff. Firstly the decoration was better but the staff standard was terrible. When we arrived there was food all over the floor as well as serviettes and cutlery. The tables had not... More

What was an OK place to go has become a place which doesn't have that many staff and what they have really want to be somewhere else. Chef has to be called out of the kitchen by floor staff and he took a month of Sunday's to come out. He seemed to be the only kitchen staff on. Didn't get... More

Unless you're prepared to send them your dentist bill, stay away from the stuffing, I've known softer rocks. But fill your boots on the veg if you like having the sensation of chewing on plastic. The mash was the only editable thing on my plate. Can't wait to come next time, it'll be a plate of mash with gravy for... More

A Carvery should provide friendly cost effective sustaining food quickly available with friendly if basic service. This place had staff so uninterested in the customer that I honestly assumed they had all been fired and were allowed (unwisely) to serve out their notice. The food was barely adequate and the depressed staff were indifferent rather than downright rude, but they... More
