Went on a whim on a hot day with wife and hungry grumpy toddler. Staff very accommodating and good with child. Food delicious and toddler food brought earlier as requested as hungry/cranky. Wife brought dessert asap to ensure could finish before child got bored! Nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed a simple lunch of fish and chips (me) and crab salad with new potatoes (herself), washed down with a carafe of white wine. The food was perfect, the service exemplary and the place sparkling clean. Yes it's pricey (possibly a little bit too much so, but trade must be seasonal) but you're actually on the pier with a... Reviews the prices and thought them expensive (£7 for a panini) but compotes to what else is around this is good value as you get great service and good portions. We started with lunch then went back for afternoon tea.

Visited on the Cask mark trail, unfortunately the certificate was not to be found. They appear to have different menus for different times of the day, nice menu something to suit even the fussiest eater. Pleasant waiter service and clean toilts You can hear the sea underneath which adds to the experience

Enjoyed our meals, which were very tasty and clearly made with fresh ingredients, although we felt it was a tad pricey - eight quid for a sausage sandwich. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

We called in for lunch. After trying two Fish and Chip shops in the town previously, and been very disappointed, I went for broke, and ordered cod and chips, my husband had half a lobster. Both meals were great. But the fish and chips were superb. Skin OFF yeah! Crispy batter, nice sized portion of chips enough for anyone. Pleasant... More

We had lunch here during a visit to family at Christmas and although the restaurant is pleasant it is overpriced for what you get - ploughman's lunch for £12 which left us both feeling hungry and wishing we'd have found a chippy somewhere. The pier has great potential and no shortage of visitors so why not stop fleecing tourists and... More

Enjoyed a very pleasant dinner with friends. What really makes the restaurant is the the 360 degree 'surround sound' view - ocean everywhere! Great mains all round, nice service considering the usual busy summer resort malaise of student waitrons and well priced. Just let down a little because of sticky tables and chairs - a simple wipe down was all... More

This restaurant has a nice location with a reasonable menu. Food is well presented but nothing special, a little pricey for what you get. Specials were good. Service is a little slow but friendly and helpful.

Food was very nice, although on the expensive side. Service on other hand dismal to say the least despite there being several staff - an ok start with drink order taken within 10 mins but downhill from there despite being less than half full. 1 hour in and starters arrived (1 mug of prawns and 2 lots of bread) 45... Description
The Boardwalk Restaurant is a family-friendly restaurant serving delicious food all day from 10.00am. Many of the ingredients are locally sourced. Open everyday of the year except Christmas Day, we serve morning coffee and cakes from 10.00am, lunches from 11.30am through to the early part of the afternoon, cream teas are a speciality in the afternoon. In the summer months we do high tea for children from 5.30pm and then suppers all evening. The hours are slightly shorter in the autumn and winter months, please check our website for daily opening hours. Sit inside or enjoy sitting on the boards outside enjoying some of the finest views of Southwold. Fully licensed, there is no nicer place to have a pint of Adnams or a glass of wine, listening to the sound of the waves beneath your feet! Please note: our food service hours are 11.30am - 4pm, and 5pm - 8.30pm. These times are weather permitting and therefore can change.
