After reading such excellent reviews on this venue we were really looking forward to a wonderful experience. Firstly after booking in advance ,as suggested in several reviews ,we arrived to find a mistake had been made and no record for that day. However , this was rectified and we were found a pleasant table in the garden ,which had been... More

I treated my friend for her birthday to afternoon tea and decided to try The Folly Tearoom after reading reviews online and a recommendation from a friend. I wasn't disappointed either. Lovely setting, we sat inside which was ok as it was warm outside and the table was set up lovely. All proper china plates, cloth napkins, cute napkin holders... More

My sister & I had lost our mother suddenly, feeling numbed by our loss and the need for getting amongst the living we found the Folly in Holt. Initially I wondered if it might be a little twee as the Decor was feminine and floral. The planting in the garden was interestingly restful. Opting to sit in the court yard... More

Of course afternoon tea venues abound and this one has many of the aspects you might expect- Pastels, flowers, mismatched retro china polka dots and kitch. However The Folly does this trend well with tables outside and in charming courtyard gardens. Offering " gentlemans teas" as well as ful afternoon versions as well as just tea and scones the menu... Lovely hidden gem of Holt - proving that it is well worth exploring the various yards. Great range of gourmet teas and the cakes are fab - the afternoon teas looked about the best I have seen! I particularly recommend the ginger and lime cake...

We visited for afternoon tea to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a lovely range of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Too much for us to eat, so we had some boxed up to take home with us. The food was lovely. The staff could have been a bit more on the ball - they didn't cope very well at busy... More

5 adults (2 of which extremely picky), 2 children and a dog.... lots that could go wrong.... We did book in - good thing, too, as they were incredibly busy. We had a table in the garden. It was a really hot, sunny day, and the big parasols were very welcome. They were fantastic at accommodating our special requests, and... More

One of the most kitch experiences EVER but not to be missed! The menu is not extensive but it doesn't need to be when you have cornered a market. If you're looking for chicken and chips, you're going to be disappointed. If you're looking for a tearoom extravaganza of fresh sandwiches and cakes, then you are in for a treat.... More

very popular as people visit North Norfolk for the summer. Yes you can book and it is often busy. However, I have always found the staff to be lovely, friendly and helpful. The Folly is a place to go as a treat as the numbers enjoying full teas show. Don't go if you are in a hurry it is not... More

We have been visiting this charming tea room since discovering it the year it opened. It has been a delight to see the pretty garden developing and the food is consistently good but the service just gets slower and slower! I cant say the service is bad because the young ladies have always been lovely and really helpful. For instance... More
