Stayed at Redworth Hall and had a walk into the village to look for somewhere to have dinner. Had a drink in the bar and looked at the menu which was very tempting so booked a table for dinner. Definitely not disappointed. Were shown to our table in the restaurant which was really busy for a Monday night. We were... More

Booked a table for a large family group at this cosy village pub The seating was all designed for diners and only the bar area was for drinkers only The tables were set in different areas due to the way the pub has been redesigned we sat next to a lovely coal fire until our tables were available We were... 3 of us were in for a meal. The meal was mediocre. Steak was tough and unappetising. Pie was all mushroom and very little steak. Pork loin not terribly good. We waited almost 1 hour for the meal to arrive. However, the most horrendous aspect was the arrival of a group of approx. 13 who were on the table next... More

Arrived with friends, unsure what to choose. I have to say there has been a massive price hike since we were last at this village pub. We checked the Menu even the Pie was expensive, however to our delight we found out it was on a special on a Wednesday night, all 4 of us ordered the same. It was... More

I wrote a glowing review of this pub earlier this year but I'm afraid there has been a change. We have continued to visit every month but I'm sad to report that things have changed and our last two visits have been very disappointing. I'll not go into detail, I've no wish to damn the place, except in justification to... More

Yet another fantastic meal at The George and Dragon yesterday, which is always so consistent with the service and food. Along with a superb range of ales (guest beers change regularly), it`s easy to see why the place is always packed to the rafters with happy customers. If in the area, you simply must visit the undisputed number one restaurant... More

I'm amazed at the consistently high quality achieved by the George and Dragon and I'm even more amazed by Anne D's negative comments. What she describes is not what we know as regular diners. The food is always good quality produce, well cooked, and served by friendly, helpful staff in a warm and pleasant environment. Without any shadow of doubt,... More
