What a Diner used to be.

I stopped in on a Saturday just after noon. I had to wait a bit due to the crowd at the entrance all waiting for tables. My first indication this was a good place for lunch. Once I had a seat I was waited on quickly. I ordered a Ruben sandwich with fries. The food arrived hot and plentiful. It tasted just great. The price was reasonable and the overall atmosphere was reminiscent of what a family diner used to be before the chain restaurants. If you’re going to be in the Gahanna area you need to stop in for either breakfast or lunch.

I have had breakfast at Creekside a couple of times and overall the food, service and atmosphere are very good. It can get busy and there is some outdoor seating. The portions are generous and the food is good.

Last minute breakfast

Service was great and food delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich and he had pancakes. Lots of coffee refills quickly and food came swiftly.

Who are the people offering good reviews

First if you are from out of town good luck finding it if you come from the east. It's in a little group of shops and the only signing is on the west side of the building. Parking is on the east side and behind the building. After asking people how to find it you walk up a path to the back near the rear kitchen door Once in there's a sign that says look for a clean table suit yourself. There wasn't any so I stood in the doorway for about 3 minutes waiting. Buring that time multiple servers walk by me doing all they can have to look at me no one even if not as I was there I think they were afraid I was going to ask them to help me. The place is busy has a steady clinics out walking in I don't understand that for the service I've gotten so far we just must be one of those businesses that no matter how hard they try to fail they still succeed. I ordered a Philly beef fries and coleslaw. The food is mediocre at best. I mentioned that the beef was dry the server his shoulder like that sucks to be you you ordered it. He did offer to bring some mayonnaise to help give a little bit of moisture. This is breakfast and a burger joint it's griddle food. Lind of hard to mess that up. If you read my other reviews you'll see that I hardly ever give long ones and I rarely give a negative reviews. I try to find something good about every restaurant because I know how hard it is to work in one. That's why I'm getting my two star instead of a 1 star. As I mentioned the only people offering good reviews have to be employees, family, and friends. Despite their little effort they seem to be doing well they're very lucky.

Great old fashioned diner

Good diner coffee. Friendly service. Great breakfast place. Ordered the half size of the monster breakfast and still took some home for lunch!

I can't reco the Working Man's breakfast enough! You have tons of food for about $10 😍 great friendly atmosphere that feels warm and familiar.

Tasty breakfast

The wife and I are in Columbus to visit the kids. First time here and early morning arrival. So here we are. Wife had biscuits & gravy and I had blueberry pancakes. Biscuits were nice and fluffy with a light and flavorful gravy. My pancakes were blueberry filled as opposed to being poured on top. I usually don’t like them filled as there is never enough. But not here. Blueberries in abundance and size. The cake was flavorful as well, like I remember momma making them. The place has a down home atmosphere, reasonably priced and friendly service. An obvious favorite for locals. So go and eat up when in the area. Enjoy RoadBob

Came from out of town to meet a friend. My friend is a vegetarian & asked for the bacon on a different plate. I also asked for no powdered sugar on my French toast. When the food came out the bacon was on my friends plate & powdered sugar on my toast. When my husband said something the waitress said, “I wrute things on the ticket but the kitchen does what they want.” She dropped the plates on the table and walked away. The waitress never filled my husband drink once. Needless to say service is poor. Now that I’m writing this I wish I would have gotten someone in charge. The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t the healthiest. I would recommend trying somewhere different.

Beautiful outdoor seating

This was our first time eating at Cafe Creekside and we’ll definitely return ASAP! We chose to eat outside, and their seating area overlooks the beautiful creek. The breakfast food was delicious, and the willow tree and passing- by families of ducks and geese made the experience beautiful. We recommend the frittata, burrito, and waffle! And they also bring a small little muffin after you order and are waiting for your meal, which was an adorable touch. We recommend taking a walk down to the park area to take in more nature and wildlife. Bring oats and birdseed to feed the ducks and geese!

Great breakfast

Visited mid week around 830 and it was pretty quiet. Seated ourselves and we were quickly greeted by our waitress who also happened to be the general manager. She was very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to have us there. I went with the working man’s breakfast which came with a biscuit and gravy, three slices of bacon, eggs cooked as you like them, sliced red potatoes and your choice of French toast/waffle/pancakes. I was not disappointed at all. Everything was delicious. Bacon cooked perfectly and the sliced red potatoes had a great seasoning to them. Definitely will have to try this place again but for lunch to see how their lunchtime is.

Great place for breakfast or casual lunch

Nice menu options and enjoyed the pancakes and grits as my side dish. Lots of nice choices for lunch such as club sandwiches with good choice of side dishes. Has booths and tables where you seat yourself and for nice weather small outside patio. Parking is not great as need to part next door small parking lot.

Old Time Restaurant in downtown Gahanna. Great selection for Breakfast. Also serves lunch. Stays open till 3:00pm. Couple nights they are open till 8:00pm. Nothing real fancy just good food and reasonabley priced. Good family restaurant!

Always a Favorite

Cafe Creekside is always a favorite place for my husband and I to go for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner - with their extended summer hours on Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Easygoing atmosphere. Friendly, timely service. Portions are generous. Food is tasty (and believe me, I think we’ve ordered it all at one time or another in the 25+ years we have been coming here). The soups are phenomenal and there is usually a daily special on the board. We especially enjoy going to sit on the patio by the creek with our dog when the tables are out (usually May thru Oct). Did I mention they serve complimentary bite size muffins on the weekends? Parking is behind the restaurant.
