Madrin House is a nice place to eat with good atmosphere. The food is good but not the best Asian food in the area. We like to go there occaisionally becuase it's fairly quiet, reasonable prices and you get a nice meal.
Nothing against Mickey D, but sometimes it's nice to have a sit down lunch. The lunch special I chose was sweet & sour chicken. Included was an egg roll. wonton soup and fried rice. The out the door price was just over $9. I've been...here often over the years and have never been disappointed.More
This restaurant has been here since 1981. This restaurant has a real Chinese classic DECOR . I found the place to be very clean including the bathrooms which have been updated
The menu describes what's in each dish so one can be adventuresome in trying...new dishes. I found the food to be freshly prepared and absolutely delicious.
As to the service we had a waitress named Oki who has worked there for 27 years highly professional with a great deal of courtesy along with other employees equally as kind.More
If for no other reason than the Won Ton Soup, but there are other reasons. Kung Pao Chicken with Plum Sauce. Very tasty. Some folks have stated that the veggies weren't done. I like them a bit crisp and I believe that is the desired...way to prepare them in Chinese cuisine, but I'm no expert. You can order the entree alone, or in combination with soup, rice and egg roll. The Egg Drop Soup is good, but I prefer the Won Ton Soup. You can also choose between Fried Rice or Steamed Rice. All of that cost me just over $10. My server was very pleasant and helpful.More
Lovely decor, so-so food, lousy service but I don't judge a restaurant on one bad server.
We ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, egg drop soup, chicken fried rice and egg roll. The fried rice entree was good, there was plenty of it....The egg drop soup was good, egg roll was average. The sweet and sour chicken was sad. 4 small pieces of tomatoes, 3 chunks of green pepper and the saddest fried chicken pieces - had to mine for the chicken. The sweet and sour sauce was standard.
Not sure we would go back, there are too many other options in the area.More
We get take out from here often. Usually a variety of choices. Our most recent visit we got Orange Chicken, General Tso Chicken, Cashew Chicken, Broccoli Chicken and and Chicken Fried Rice plus a few spring rolls.
Everything was good as usual and they will...prepare a dish for you as you request. For example my wife always likes extra veggies and I always ask for brown sauce on my meal. The price is reasonable and we recommend them.More
Went here today, The waitress Oki (?) was friendly & tried hard to convince us the food is great, said it about 4 times in a row.. I had been here many times over the years.. The decor is VERY lovely.. There were 2 other...people in there at dinnertime on Friday night... I ordered the Empress shrimp & asked what sauce was with it.. after a confusing few minutes, (was told that it's "reddish, sweet & kind of tomato-ish) I decided to go for it. I stated that i did not want the combo as i don't like fried egg roll or fried rice.. I wanted white rice... The food came fast, When i saw the "brownish" rice i was not happy, I was not sure if it was fried, brown or what.. after tasting it i found it was like a cold white minute/instant rice type, very greasy, old & gummy & just mixed with something brown
(maybe a type of sauce or old oil) the veggies were cut HUGE & totally raw & cold, I think they were added at the last moment.. The shrimp was clearly frozen, as it was soggy, chewy & powdery(?) We had to ask for some white rice, ( & was charged for it!) as we told her that the taste was greasy & "off"/sour for the "browinsh" rice.. My sons red curry was OK. His veggies were raw as well, But he said the potatoes & chicken in it were good.. I brought our veggies home to COOK & eat with some FRESH white rice later.. For $26.63 plus $6 tip. NOT WORTH IT> Which is sad, It's a beautiful place in a convenient area.. But skimping on freshness & quality is a bad move., No wonder it was dead on a Friday evening at dinnertime.. Sure has changed..
I'm a chef.. I know.
This is totally the WORST meal i have ever eaten anywhere in the world..More
