Want to try something REAL different? give this place a try. Very eclectic and cozy. Fun menu with some cool specials. The place is a mixture of 60's funk and contemporary style food. Don't let the outside fool you-it's better than you'd expect.

The chowder house has been listed as Akron's best seafood and featured on cleveland's A list top 100 so it was worth a drive. It's a small, welcoming restaurant with effusive charm and friendly staff. The jukebox is free to play. We opened with a clam chowder which was rich, creamy and balanced with the right amount of cracked pepper.... More

i can't believe there wasn't a line around the block waiting to get in. the food was excellent, the desserts to die for, the service friendly and professional. the place is small and eclectic, everything was fresh. they do not take credit, cash and checks only. worth going to the bank first.

Small quaint place, nice atmosphere, good food (especially the fish). Had a great Portobello sandwich there just because I was curious, it was fabulous!

This is one of our favorite places to go for a relaxing evening with our bottle of wine. The staff is friendly and the kitchen sends out some excellent dishes. For Valentine's we had a lobster tail that was very sweet and tender. For New Years Eve my husband had Beef Wellington that was very tender and flavorful. Their noodles... More

My wife's French onion soup was not hot and my wdge salad had a lemon undertone that was not indicsated... More

We have been fairly frequent customers of this quirky establishment (about 6 times a year), but we feel that the palace has lost some of ts charm. It was never inexpensive, but that was ok when their offerings were unique and tasty. In our two most recent visits, dinner menu offerings were pricey and portions were small with few options.... Incredible seafood. The restaurant has a great ambiance with a very friendly and efficient staff. This is a bring your own favorite wine, beer or alcohol of choice. There is a small "cork" fee.

I arrived for lunch one afternoon and found the lunch menu with high prices for a bowl of soup being too expensive. It said $ 6.00 for a bowl of soup so I asked to see the size of bowl. I looked over the menu and found that the prices were too high for what was described. Seafood must cost... More
