Phenomenal!!! Just like I remembered. My entire family raved about their meals. I had the sirloin tips with steak fries. My wife had the half glazed chicken. Both dishes were so good. We will definitely return!!

Growing up in the 80's, I went to York Steakhouse in our local mall. I had always loved the way it was cafeteria style and you could choose your desserts, sides, etc. It was always a treat to go there. When I found out there...was 1 remaining York Steakhouse left, and I would be visiting the area where it was located, how could I not go? Upon entering the restaurant, the menu was on the hallway walls, just as it was in the 1980's. Same menu items, same decore, same wonderful smells! Our chopped steak was just as I remembered, cooked perfectly, and with the grill marks. The salad bar is super fresh and has a lot of choices. The desserts are all home made and look wonderful. Never having been able to find chocolate pudding as good as York Steakhouse's, it was a no-brainer that was my choice. It was just a delicious as I remembered. The staff were all very pleasant and checked on our table often to make sure we were enjoying our meal. I was so happy to have been able to come here again. It brought back a lot of nice memories from my youth and I would love to be able to come back again, if my travels bring me close by!More
My wife and I found this place by accident and we are glad we did. The large menu the well prepared meal. I drive over 100 miles to take my wife here on a date. There potato salad is just like how my mom made...it. Don't miss this Gem... parking is in the rear too.More
There were signs on the door saying face masks required. This is the first time since the COVID 19 that we have eaten at the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant reminds a person of the 1960s or 1970's. We noticed that the staff gave...us a tray with silverwear and napkins on it. Previously these items were in containers and your got your own. We placed our orders and moved down the line to the location where salad plates used to be located. Now they have moved the self service salad bar from the dinning area to the location that had been salad plates. The had their most popular salad bar items behind large plexiglass separating guess and staff. You informed the staff what items you wanted and they prepared your salad. After paying for our food (which was very reasonable) we found a table near the old location for the salad bar. The restaurant had several booths blocked off and tables had been removed so that social distancing could be maintained. The server brought our food which included baked fish in butter sauce with almonds, baked potato and rolls. The food was all very good. We had only one problem the fish that my wife received had some bones in it and she had to be careful eating it. My fish was fine no bones. Our server kept our beverages refilled and provided us with salt and pepper. Since we came during lunch hours drinks were provided at no extra cost. All staff members were wearing face masks. Everything was very clean. The restrooms were also well maintained. Will definitely return.More
This York steakhouse is the only one remaining in the Columbus area. There used to be 3 others. The restaurant offers a selection of steak fixed many different ways along with baked or fried fish, chopped steak, shrimp, spaghetti and several other items. They also...have several types of desserts. You go through a cafeteria type line with a tray picking up your silverware, salad plates, drinks and butter then paying at the end. The server will bring your main dish to your table after it is prepared. While you wait they have a very nice salad bar with a good selection of items to make yourself a salad to enjoy. While we were eating we seen the staff stocking the salad bar two times and keeping it clean. Our server made sure he kept our drinks refilled and asking if we needed anything. My wife and I both had the Baked fish with butter sauce and sliced almonds, a baked potato and rolls. It may seem odd to order fish at a steakhouse, but they have delicious baked fish. Since this was February they had the restaurant decorated with Valentine items. The restaurant had a good size crowd considering it was 3 pm on a Saturday. It was 75% full. They have staff that has a special cart that goes around bussing tables and cleaning them for quick turn around. The restrooms were older but well maintained and clean. The parking lot is completely behind the restaurant with video camera monitoring.More
Just solid basics. A friend suggested it as we needed lunch food and a place to talk. I had the steak tips and a packed potato. The salad bar was fresh, the food was good, we talked. The place has had minimal updates, but I’m...fine with it as everything looked clean. This may not be the place to impress a first date, but I enjoyed it.More
This place was once part of a national chain. When the chain closed all the stores the manager of this one asked if he could buy just this one store. This was about 30 years ago I think. Over all the years this place has...remained with the same good food. The lettuce and other items on the salad bar are always fresh and crisp. The rolls are always fresh, soft and warm. The steak is always cooked right and flavorful. The staff is friendly and attentive. At Christmas time there is a charming miniature village display with a train. The dining room has never been updated but everything is always clean.More
We stopped in here and I was not impressed with anything. The interior was dark and dingy looking, then the salad bar didn't have much on it. I ordered a rib-eye steak and my cousin did, too. When the waitress brought our food out, I...took one look at my steak and told the waitress that my steak was not a rib-eye. Her reply, "Well it is 8 ounces!!". I was not questioning the size, I was questioning the cut of steak. My cousin's steak was a rib-eye and mine was a New York Strip. I have raised beef all my life and been to enough restaurants to know the difference of a rib-eye and a New York Strip. I will not be stopping there again!!More
My family went here because growing up in New England, York Steakhouses were plentiful and had great food. When I found out there was one remaining and we were going to be in Columbus, we had to visit it. It was like we stepped back...in time. The castle like decor was just as I had remembered it, as was the serving line. The service was good. The food was quite good. Not quite as good as I remembered it, but pretty close. It was well worth the visit.More
Come here twice my hole life ,bc it's far away, I come today and orderd a steak, sent it back bc it wasent cooked right, they re did it got it back again this time it was over cooked and chewy served with s side...of raw cold fries , I will not he back, not worth the tripMore
After hearing one it my friends rave about York, I decided I would finally try it for myself. I am so glad I had the opportunity to visit! Walking in, the decor takes you back a few decades, which is a very nice touch. As...busy as they were, I didn't have to wait long for my food, which came out amazing! Great value, too. I would totally come back here!More
Forget all those other chain steakhouses...this one is a must!!! A family member passed (one who was a frequent visitor to York). After one of the showings, our family (large party) went to York. We were all freezing in the funeral home and York was...warm!!! Not hot but very comfortable. The owner Jay greeted the spouse of the deceased and after we were seated he came to express his condolences to the family. That was very personable & sweet. I asked for my steak medium well and by golly it's been so long since I had it cooked medium well - it was fantastic, juicy and no need for any steak sauce. I really love the salad bar too!! The servers are all wonderful and friendly too. The cashier pointed out toothpicks were on the salad bar by the croutons (we were told specifically - no need to look someplace on the salad bar) & lastly it was decorated beautifully for the holiday season!.More
No one at the counter to tell you how to order as its a lot like the old Bonanza or Sizzlers steak houses of the past. No signs to tell you what you can order except for photos of dinners on the wall as you...come in. Did not know what came with our dinner until we got it. Both of us ordered the 1/2 honey chicken which was ok bland but ok, both of us had baked potatoes and a roll, I had chocolate milk and spouse had white milk ( no refills costs 1.29 per half pint and sour cream is 25 cents per spoon full). . A salad bar is where you find things to put on your potato, No one told us that. We did it on our own. Salad bar is good except no olives, or butter for your rolls. Had to ask for it. Cost us $29 bucks Granted the waitress was good and attentive to our needs and helped us find things. All in all things were ok but confusing to a SR citizen like us.More
Well... it was just as I remembered... except for the salad bar which I don't remember but makes the meal even more affordable - the sirloin tips and the chicken - oh, yes! The honey roasted chicken was finger licking good!! Our server mentioned that...they keep the menu the same for nostalgia. Come see!More
I grew up eating at York Steakhouse in my local mall in Connecticut. It closed sometime in the late 80s-early 90s. So many fun memories of eating there with my family. I happened to look up online what ever happened to York Steakhouse, and found out...that there was one left in Columbus, OH. Flash forward a few years and I am planning a trip to Cincinnati and Columbus. I knew that the last surviving York Steakhouse had to be a stop on my trip. I walked in, and could not believe what a flashback I was having. From the menu on the wall, to the bins of utensils and trays.. it all looked just like I remembered. I ordered a ribeye, added sautéed mushrooms and chose a slice of cheesecake for dessert. The meal comes with a nice fresh salad bar. I'm not sure where else one can get a steak dinner for $11.99. The steak was juicy and cooked just right. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere casual. A great place to take the family for a reasonably priced meal (or for a solo traveler on a budget). I highly recommend stopping by if you are ever in the area. If I ever find myself in Columbus again, I would!More
