My wife and I drove 40 min's to try GMichaels in German Village, an area we enjoy. We are reasonable people and dont write reviews although we were disappointed with this choice. Good bar area, excell wine list and surrounds but having lived in the south for 30 years ie. Charleston, SC and the shrimp and grits looked like a... More

Everyone raves about this restaurant, but we don't. The menu is quite limiting. There are a lot of pork dishes on the menu. Not great if you don't eat pork. Chicken could not be grilled as it already had a buttermilk coating. Shrimp was on menu but could not be made in another form. We wanted to go 2 weeks... More

We were looking for something special to set off the tailgate food from the OSU football game we attended earlier in the day...and our experience at G Michael's Bistro definitely fit the bill. It was exceptional in all regards. The atmosphere was warm, friendly and restrained at the same time. We sat in the back and so we were privy... More

We met our daughter here for dinner in the German Village area of Columbus and had an excellent dinner! The duo of pork was sublime and the filet of beef with potato croquette was excellent. My husband did the 3 course menu featured and he really enjoyed the grilled endive salad with Marcano almonds and pork chop. Our waitress had... More

The restaurant is in a late 1800's building that originally was probably a home converted like a lot of German Village establishments. The menu is seasonal and the chef does use local farmed foods when available. Of course there are always specials of the day and I tried the Walleye fish which was really good. Two in our party tried... More

The title of this review were the first words my wife uttered as we left. The entire experience rom the car park to the check was one that put this restaurant on the "keep" list. The portions are just right for people who aren't "growing" any more, and my special scallops entree was wonderful in the least. The house wine... More

Friends local to Columbus brought us. Really impressed with their menu - Chilean sea bass, quail, frog legs to traditional fare like lasagna .... the sea bass, Atlantic salmon and lasagnia were winners. It was so-so with the quail as I found it a bit on the greasy side. The presentation were nice. I like their Tuscany red wine offering... More

We ate at G. Michael's Bistro & Bar on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. Although we had been there on a number of occasions over the years, it had been some time since we had been there. I had one of the two evening specials (duck leg and scallops over mushroom risotto). It was superb! The menu offers a number of... More

Really enjoy the creative meals and fresh ingredients here. Loved the fried green tomatoes, and the halibut. It was perfectly fresh and the preparation was just perfect. We enjoyed the nice meal, great food, nice service and pleasant atmosphere. My husband was pleased with the luxardo cherries! I didn't care for the crime brûlée- ilanit too eggy for me. And... More

This was our fourth visit to G Michael's in about a two-year span. I have always found the atmosphere pleasant but have had mixed feelings about the menu selections and still feel that the wine list is overpriced. I did like the menu selection a lot better this time. This visit was an anniversary celebration for my wife and I... More
