This is just my favorite dining experience in Columbus. After moving to Charleston in August, I returned to hear my wife sing her last Holiday Pops. We had dinner between the performances with dear friends. I can better appreciate the southern influence in David's culinary skill. For starters, we had a dozen oysters - could truly taste and utterly enjoy... More

Celebrating a special occasion last evening we tried this venue located in a charming part of the City. Upon entering we saw the quaint bar area and told the Host at the Stand we would like to get a drink before our dinner reservation. I am a top reviewer and in all the places all over the world I have... More

This is a great place to meet friends and enjoy cocktails and a lovely meal. Service was outstanding! Most of our food choices were also outstanding, particularly the calamari and the Brussels sprouts appetizers. Both were incredibly flavorful and generous enough for sharing. The roasted cauliflower salad was also delicious. For the entrees, the braised lamb neck served over potatoes... More

Four of us enjoyed dinner here on a Monday night. We each had a small plate at happy hour along with wine and each couple shared a fixed price dinner. We enjoyed the gumbo and shrimp and grits small plates. The pork chop and trout dinners were good and the Cream brûlée for dessert was excellent. The waitress was very... More

After wandering through the book store a block away in German Village, we were feeling a little peckish and decided to try G Michael's. The Shrimp & Grits with Andouille were awesome! We shared the fried chicken plate, which had cheese biscuits and green beans cooked right - everything was fresh and nicely presented! The chicken was moist and tender,... More

My wife and I drove 40 min's to try GMichaels in German Village, an area we enjoy. We are reasonable people and dont write reviews although we were disappointed with this choice. Good bar area, excell wine list and surrounds but having lived in the south for 30 years ie. Charleston, SC and the shrimp and grits looked like a... More

Everyone raves about this restaurant, but we don't. The menu is quite limiting. There are a lot of pork dishes on the menu. Not great if you don't eat pork. Chicken could not be grilled as it already had a buttermilk coating. Shrimp was on menu but could not be made in another form. We wanted to go 2 weeks... More

We were looking for something special to set off the tailgate food from the OSU football game we attended earlier in the day...and our experience at G Michael's Bistro definitely fit the bill. It was exceptional in all regards. The atmosphere was warm, friendly and restrained at the same time. We sat in the back and so we were privy... More

We met our daughter here for dinner in the German Village area of Columbus and had an excellent dinner! The duo of pork was sublime and the filet of beef with potato croquette was excellent. My husband did the 3 course menu featured and he really enjoyed the grilled endive salad with Marcano almonds and pork chop. Our waitress had... More

The restaurant is in a late 1800's building that originally was probably a home converted like a lot of German Village establishments. The menu is seasonal and the chef does use local farmed foods when available. Of course there are always specials of the day and I tried the Walleye fish which was really good. Two in our party tried... More
