We visited Basi Italia during Restaurant Week but did not see anything we really might like on their special menu, so we ordered from their regular menu and were VERY glad we did! Every dish we tried was outstanding. For appetizers we had the Pan Roasted Mussels and the Crispy Oysters. On the former, the mussels were cooked perfectly, and... More

Came here for a business dinner. We sat out on the patio which had a pretty cool vibe. There were several items on the menu I was interested in trying. The fact that they did wine flights was cool. I was disappointed by the lack of Italian wines on their menu. There were only a couple. Being an Italian restaurant,... More

Lunch on the patio. Nice warm day . Very pleasant patio. Part of a large group. Our server,Tina, didn't break a sweat. She took very good care of us. The lunch menu was problematic . Too many things I wanted to try. Settled on grilled Caesar salad and smoked salmon bruschetta . It was very good. There was a wide... More

We asked to split a beet salad and it was served on one plate. It was very standard, I can make better. We had fried oysters with mustard sauce, it was very bland. The scallops were cooked well, but had a bland strawberry acidic compote that did not go with the scallops. The Lobster Risotto was thin and runny and... More

This was our first time dining at Basi and it was such an amazing experience from start to finish! We each had different dishes and each were amazing! We began with a few apps. of caesar salad, parmesan burlee and mussels. Each were great with flavor and taste! For our entrees we had the Trout and Scallops....both were some of... More

When I lived in Victorian Village 35 years ago nobody was thinking of restaurants. There were a few of the glorious homes being restored while many sat vacant or were occupied by folks who didn't seek out fine dining. How times have changed. Street after tree-lined street boast homes restored to their original glory. Tucked away in this beautiful neighborhood,... More

Our table of five was delighted, as always, by our meals today. Our cocktails were perfect for a warm summer day - cucumber rickies that were lightly tart and extremely refreshing. For starters, we had crispy oysters, caesar salad, house smoked salmon bruschetta, and a spectacular zucchini salad. If you told me at 6 pm that I'd be raving about... More

My wife and I joined her sister and brother-in-law at Basi Italia for the first time for all of us to celebrate the 2 sisters birthdays. We arrived first and were surprised at how small the place was, holding maybe 50 or so patrons. It was 6:45 pm on a Saturday night and there was one table left - the... More

Difficult to find and reserve but absolutely worth it! Fairly open kitchen and small dining area share an old house down a side street in a residential area. Valet is the only way to go for parking. Decor quirky yet charming. And in winter, regular bursts of cold air sweep the dining area despite a curtain around the entry. But... More

This small (apx. 40 seats) restaurant is a perfect spot for dinner with friends. Fine/Upscale Casual, the menu is varied but not overwhelming. The service is very good and the food, exceptional. During warm weather there is outside seating which more than doubles the capacity.
