This is a hidden restaurant, but worth visiting. Wines are reasonable starting from low $30s. We ordered several appetites instead of ordering dinner since so many are appealing. This is a great place for wine lovers.

For a post thanksgiving meal dinner we decided to visit basi which was suggested by a friend. The room itself is not very attractive and the seating is cramped. However this is made up by the food and service. I had the special beef Ragu in a tomato cream sauce. The pasta was perfectly cooked and sauce was not heavy.... More

Absolutely a true hidden gem in the city. Always great, and worth the drive from anywhere in the city! Enjoy....we always do.

Small, locally owned Italian bistro in the heart of Victorian Village. Make every attempt to produce authentic Italian fare, and does quite well. Sautéed (or flash fried, not sure) zucchini strips with tossed with olive oil, almonds, and some freshly shaved parmesan is a signature appetizer and well worth the try. Choice change by the season and are thoughtful and... More

Great food, wonderful patio, excellent service. My favorite was the eggplant parmesan. Nice wine selection. Basi is tucked away in an alley in the heart of Victorian Village, one- half block off of Neil Avenue. Parking may be difficult; consider opting for valet service which is reasonable at $5.

Friends told us about Basi Italia and invited us to try it out with them. We were not familiar with this restaurant but were hugely impressed with the unique menu and first-rate service. Cynthia, our server, was very friendly and professional and made the entire dining experience a delight. We had the good fortune to secure a table on the... More

We had a large party of 12 at Basi for dinner this week. They had us all set up on their beautiful patio and, even though it was still a very busy night, the service and food were all outstanding. Chef John and Trish are amazing hosts. Many of the folks were from out of town and they all said... More

This is a very small restaurant, set in the inside of a Victorian home. Tables are small, and jammed up very close to each other. I would have preferred the patio, but there was a wait, so we stayed inside. The servers hustle, though it can still be slow. It is dark and hard to see, and of course noisy.... More

Tiny but mighty good food. Small, in an out of the way location makes this a very unique dining experience. They offer a very reasonable $5 valet parking. Parking is a bit risky on the street with local stickers making a ticket assured if you don't have one. We parked at a meter on Park Street and walked a few... More

Love this restaurant! Great patio during the spring, summer, and fall! Covered patio in the winter months. Great food and wonderful atmosphere! Inside is very nice and perfect for a date.
