We have been to Alana's many times in the past and had excellent meals. This time I took my wife there for her birthday and it was just OK. Alana seemed to be preoccupied or was literally avoiding our table. We were so used to seeing her visit the tables and talk about the food but this time she came... More

There were seven of us for a two birthday dinner. We drove Alana crazy because we started wit four, added to six, and then added to seven. Alana was gracious and wonderful. Four of us had the tasting plate. Oh, my. Every course was wonderful! The lamb was outstanding and the strawberry ice cream (homemade) was amazing. My husband had... More

1970's vibe, a bit funky, but once the food arrived it was definitely contemporary and outstanding. Some items were unusual but very good. They had a surprise appetizer which was great, did not try the surprise main course. Large dinner portions so no room for dessert.

Great unique food, with wonderful presentation. Menu can change daily - has been maybe the first farm to table restaurant in Columbus (17 years in business). Wonderful wine list that is priced well - not the usual restaurant pricing. Well worth the visit!

Alana makes sure her customers are constantly treated to new and interesting food. Her hands on approach to managing the place shows in every detail.

I am by definition a snooty New Yorker and a bit of a foodie. I travel to many big cities and am lucky that I've eaten at some very fine restaurants in NY and Europe. I had very low expectations as far as food went in Columbus. We were here on business and one of our hosts said that when... More

Alana's is not of Columbus' great original restaurants. It has been chic, marvelous, and delicious without pretense since long before the local restaurant revolution. Fresh ingredients and unique fare goes without saying. very reasonably priced for the quality of food, with al fresco dining available and works by local artists on display. Alana visit each table with a greeting and... More

I've been looking forward to dining at Alana's for quite sometime now after hearing great things from friends. I decided to make a reservation for a group (ten) for a Saturday night. The interior has its own unique flair which I enjoyed and the staff was friendly. We ordered drinks and there seemed to be a shortage of availability. The... More

Had the Valentine's tasting menu. Every course was phenomenal! The service was great too. Felt very comfortable, not stuffy. When the dessert course came around, we had already been eating for an hour and a half. We were stuffed! They offered dessert and the included glass of port, or if we would let them have the table for more guests,... More

There are so many uninteresting chains and so many 'tragically hip' independents, it is interesting that Alana has been able to carve out a niche by doing pretty much what she wants to do. While 'local' is the latest fad, she was buying what she liked from local vendors from the start. While menus have gotten ever more pretentious in... More
