Discovered several years ago by my partner who is Mandarin Chinese, Han is the ONLY Chinese restaurant he prefers to dine. We still have not tried all the dishes since it is so difficult not to remain with the ones we have already experienced. I...have taken scores of friends there and they have delighted in the cuisine. In fact, we end up ordering so much that there is plenty to take home. We feel at home at Han and shall continue to enjoy our trips from Mentor to Payne Avenue. It is a delight each time.More

Was super excited to try this restaurant as the reviews are really great overall. We like to try a variety of things and bring home the extras so I feel like we tried a lot! Started off with the hot and sour soup. This was...overall the best item we had! The flavor was perfect as was the consistency and texture of vegetables and tofu. Then we shared a spring roll order and crab Rangoon. Both “good”, not better than average. If anything, they both were excessively greasy . To be fair, they are both a fried item, so perhaps being too critical. I thought the spring rolls were nice , but the inside was all mushy. Just an odd texture. The crab Rangoon tasted very good but a lot of extra grease taste. Couldn’t eat the edges, just the center. My son had the sesame chicken. Tasted like a sweet and sour chicken. Pretty disappointed. In fact he didn’t even eat it at all. I had the bok choy with shiitake mushrooms and that was very good. We took an order of beef with rice noodles home for another person later and that tastes absolutely awful. Perhaps a bad idea for a to go item? The meat is gelatinous and the noodles are like a paste. Honestly will throw it away. Last item we tried and almost forgot was the beef kabob. Since kabob is in the name of restaurant, thought it would be a must try!! Again, no good. The meat has a jelly like texture. And the flavor was very peppery. Forced myself to eat one. I probably won’t come back , as there are so many others to try. Not a bad experience, I just think you need to read reviews to know what to order. This order came to $89 plus tip. I will say they were very kind and the service was very good. Parking can be difficult as there are 4 businesses in this small plaza but I believe you can park on the side streets too.there was one handicapped spot in the lot. See pics of everything.More

My daughter and I eat here almost every Sunday and WE LOVE IT! The flavors, whether authentic or not, are very down to earth, rich and intense. The staff is EXCELLENT and the place is comfortable!

I have been here twice. If you like hot and spicy foods, this is the place for you. The broil fish filets are outstanding. The Perking duck is tender but the skin is not crispy enough. They have many very tasty cold appetizer dishes. The...dry hot pot is also very authentic and excellent. The restaurant is bright and cozy, unlike another close by hot and spicy restaurant.More

Disclaimer: I eat at Han’s a LOT! Like once a week. I come here because it complements Szechuan Gourmet (which is around the corner) although both are equally authentic. It’s in the Chinatown section of Cleveland, which is a bit rough looking. There’s a small...parking lot outside the restaurant, which is in a very tiny strip mall type area. Dress is super casual. This is basically a dive/hidden gem. Pros: 1. Mouthwatering kebabs, unlike anything I’ve ever tasted 2. Great flavorful food, lots of variety 3. This is about as far as you can get from American style “Chinese” food. This is the real deal 4. Tasty without being too spicy 5. Friendly and efficient service 6. Very reasonable prices 7. Lots of exotic dishes like “spine” if you’re into that (I’m not) Cons: None really, other than the neighborhood.More

This has become one of my favorite Chinese restaurants to frequent. They have tons of authentic dishes you will not find at your typical restaurant. The boiled crispy fish is a delicious and spicy dish that was large enough to feed 4 people. The wontons...with chili oil were so good we had to put in two more orders. My personal favorites were the salt and pepper prawns and salt and pepper squid. Crunchy and generous baskets with perfect seasoning. I recommend coming here with friends and sharing the dishes. The menu is large and keeps you wanting to come back to try new items.More

This was my second visit. The first time, I only shared a couple of kebabs with a friend. This time I returned with my wife and a visitor from SC. We order the pan-fried spinach and the bok choy with shiitake mushrooms for ourselves and...our guest suggested Chinese sausage kebabs. I had the first and it was to die for, the bok choy cooked just right, resistant to the tooth but not tough, with a wonderful shiitake sauce - the intense shiitake flavor owing to the copious heaping of shiitake - in apx equal proportion to the cok choy! My wife said her spinach was excellent as well. It had (cayenne?) peppers in it, but she said it was "spicy ma non troppo." My friend let me taste his Chinese sausage and it was quite unusual and tasty. The bill for 2 dishes plus rice and tea, was $25 incl tax. And the portions were so generous that even though we arrived hungry we ended up taking some of it home. A fine-dining experience in an unpretentious setting and at unpretentious prices. We will be back! (BTW, kebabs were apx $7.95 for three, not the 'over $10 another review falsely alleged.) . I met a colleague there who was eating a dish made of what looked like julienne potatoes which she said was very tasty and unlike anything else, with an interesting texture. For next time. I also saw a huge pile of duck meat going past which also look great.More

I had the Korean Style Spicy Noodles today - with fresh chicken, shrimp, and octopus. It was amazing! I have a really difficult time finding good Chinese in Cleveland, so I am very pleased to have found this place. There are also only 3 reviews...on here, which makes me believe that it is a real hidden gem. The hostess suggested the meal for me and I almost ate the entire thing which is rare for me to eat that much during a work lunch! I love Wonton Gourmet across the street, but this was really good and I can't wait to return!!More

Bloody Kebobs are way over $10. Most beef on-stick under $7. Go next door to Map of Thailand, better value.

Had a great lunch here yesterday, sweet and sour chicken, I know boring right? But it was a nice portion, very fresh and hot. Comes with soup, white rice and an egg roll. I want to try the more exotic dishes and I definitely will...be back real soon.More

HAN Chinese Kabob & Grill 3710 Payne Avenue Cleveland, Ohio 44114 216-769-8745 The traditional Chinese cuisine have different styles of cooking coming from diverse regions of China like Canton, Hunan, Schezuan, Shanghai, etc Most of the Chinese restaurant here are modified and adapted mostly to...American taste. Ming Tsai, owner of the Blue Ginger restaurant in Wellesley, Massachusetts said “that Chinese American dish is a 'dumbed-down' version Chinese food. It’s adapted... to be blander, thicker and sweeter for the American public” The name itself is baffling. I’m skeptical whether this is Turkish with Chinese influence or vice versa. Anyway, if it looks good, taste good, it must be good. That’s my review of the foods served at Han Chinese Kebab & Grill. Their sauces and ingredients are far diverse from other Chinese American Restaurants. Their Famous Beijing Noodles are soft noodles that are stir fried with thin slices of cucumber, peas, veggies, pork and a delectable sauce that coats the noodles. Delicious. Their beef and lamb skewer are of Turkish flavor. Although the meat is not so tender, you can appreciate the middle eastern seasonings as you start to chomp on it. The assorted spices must have been dry-rub into the meat. It saves you the hassle of wiping your tie from its drippings. Stir fried butterfly shrimps is a must and also the eggplant with garlic sauce which is plate-licking good. Tasty and appetizing. The place is comfortable, conscientious service, first-rate food and reasonably priced. N. Veloso 11/11/2014More
