As vegetarians, we seldom feel like a restaurant is talking to us. This one is. The root vegetable cassoulet is sublime. With parsnips, carrots, rutabagas and cannelloni beans with sun dried tomatoes on top, there is no tired veg fare here. The breaded cauliflower with spicy aoli and mushroom french toast are both satisfying and full of flavor. There were... More

NIce setting with multiple rooms which keeps noise levels low. Service is impeccable. Steaks well prepared, short ribs tender but a bit salty and good seafood options. Did not try desserts. Nice cheese platter option and each knowledgeably explained. Could place more emphasis on bread prep, but overall good.

This restaurant is divided into small rooms making your dinner more intimate. The food is definitely fine dining quality. Paring of wine was spot on. The managers circulated the room talking to patrons making sure everyone's needs were met. The only thing I would recommend to the restaurant would be not rushing the serving of courses. Other than that it... More

It was the cheese that was most highly recommended, and rightfully so - we had 7 pieces of different cheeses selected from a large tray of multiple options - creamy, smokey, stinky etc. All were expertly described by our server. Service, by the way, was efficient and friendly, even though the place was very busy on a Friday night. My... More

Stopped in while walking in the neighborhood because the place looked a bit eclectic. I was right. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the warm, cozy atmosphere, interesting beer selection and amazing food. The potato soup with Parmesan was particularly delicious. Highly recommended - whether you're alone (they make you very welcome at the bar) or with a group.

We've given them second, third and fourth chances. Each subsequent visit has been stellar, from the food AND the service. Glad we kept an open mind, and yes, we will return!

Restaurants like "L'Albatros" are like gems to be treasured. The classic menu and celebration of traditional cuisine, in this case Alsatian, resulted in a dining experience that was truly memorable. We live in suburban Detroit and lament the number of restaurants of this genre and caliber that have vanished here over the years. We travel extensively and dining is an... More

L'Albatros was a pleasant dining experience. The appetizer, goat cheese tart, was very flavorful and accented the goat cheese without overwhelming it. Our entrees (steak, chicken breast, root vegetables) were all very well prepared. The highlight of the meal was the cheese plate. The cheese server (Ashley) was extremely knowledgeable and articulate and recommended some excellent choices. Great cheese nicely... More

This restaurant is very quaint. It is situated in an old house in the middle of Case Western University - literally between a sorority house and a frat house. The campus is gorgeous. It's a lovely five minute walk from here to Severance Hall. Our meal was outstanding, as was the service. The hanger steak was particularly good.
