The food is great, and when my pasta arrived not as hot as I would hope, it was remade as was my colleague's so he wouldn't eat before me. And both of our dinners were comp'd . That is great service. The wine list was great and brought us joy as carried one label which has meaning and we enjoyed a lot. I never leave work early enough to enjoy the happy hour at Il Venetian but will make a point to do so. Thank you for making a normal work dinner special.

Our best meal experience while visiting Cleveland for an industry conference. From the moment we entered, warmly greeted by both their friendly hostess and Mike, their wine & beverage specialist. What a comfortable and refined atmosphere. High-end service, with the food and beverages to match, with reasonable prices for the superior quality. Pasta made by hand on-site, bread hot fresh baked, salads and main courses were perfect. Every dish was a beautiful presentation. Service from beginning to end was exceptional. We are guaranteed to return next time in town!

Looked specifically for an Italian restaurant that I could receive a meal that is up to my standards. It’s been a while. The service was prompt and professional, post order the meal came quickly and was temperately hot and absolutely perfect. I had the Spaghetti Fra’ Diavolo. This included an obvious in house made pasta and sauce. Fresh shrimp, half a lobster tail, large mussels and clams, octopus and squid all fresh and cooked perfectly. NONE of the shellfish had any semblance of a lack of freshness, I am very attuned to spoiled or nearly spoiled shellfish and this dish was completely void of said spoilage. Simply rare now a days. The pasta was cooked Al dente perfectly, I have absolutely ZERO negative things to say about this meal. A seafood Fra’diavolo is one of my favorites and I order it when ever possible. This version by far is the best example of what in my opinion is the way a seafood Fra’diavolo should be prepared. It was not “hot hot” in that I mean spicy hot as I’ve had many of these dishes that were WAY to hot and the spice was covering for spoiled shellfish. This dish was spicy but not “hot hot” because it didn’t need to overcome imperfect shellfish. It was seasoned perfectly and when finished bread was provided to sop up the remaining sauce. I will go out of my way to return here to order this dish again.
If management reads this review you must do the following: DO NOT change this dish and always remain vigilant about the quality of the shellfish. You’ve got my respect and I will be back.

I dined here tonight and was pleased with the experience. The waitress was helpful and guided me to the eggplant meal and a Caesar salad. The salad had white anchovies-a plus. I had a nice beer and ended with a glass of porto. The eggplant is in the top list but is a full meal. The pomodoro sauce is very nice. I may be back tomorrow night.

We were really looking forward to dinner at Il Venetian. We looked at the menu online and it really appealed to us.
From the minute we entered and encountered the rude hostess, things never got better. She would not let us approach the bar, she said people were waiting. We sat at a table in the bar area, but no one approached us to see if we wanted drinks. Finally, a manager came and got us drinks. He was rushed and not the least bit friendly.
We were seated near the window and a server approached us. We never saw him again. Another server, Jamil came over to take our order, he seemed inexperienced and overworked. No one offered drinks and were pretty much MIA. Our pasta was good but that was about it. We saw at least 2 managers with suits on walking around but never approaching customers tables to see if they were pleased. Maybe they knew the answer.
The music was deafening to add to the annoying atmosphere. We couldn't stand being there any longer and skipped dessert. No offer of dessert was made so our decision was already made for us. Besides, they didn't deserve any more of our business with their uncaring, cavalier attitudes.
As we were getting ready to leave a car accident happened out the window on the street behind us. Now the door we had entered was unavailable to exit. We had to walk through to the front of the hotel to get an Uber. All in all our worst dining experience in Cleveland. This would have been a terrible (one star) rating if the food had not been good.
Not recommended.

This is a fine Italian restaurant. The setting is elegant, the menu is extensive, and the food is quite good. However, on a night when the restaurant was not too busy, service was inexplicably slow. I enjoy a relaxed meal as much as the next person, but the delays took the shine off of a fine meal.

We loved this place. Stayed at the hotel for a get-out-of-town date night. The selection of Il Venetian was a perfect choice for dinner. Everything from the apps to the dessert was perfect. The wine expert helped us pick out something that paired with our dinner so I didn't have to just guess on the wine list. I will probably have dreams about that veal Parm until I get to this place again.

This restaurant is attached to the Marriott but it is not a “hotel” kind of place. We had beet salad, veal stuffed angliotti, and a crusted rare tuna and everything was fabulous. There’s lots of good menu selections and a nice wine list. Our server was terrific and all the staff was friendly and helpful. We’ll be back.

A real treat! We arrived in Cleveland late afternoon and were surprised by several options for dining around our hotel. Il Venetian looked a little fancy but we decided to check it out and although decor is upscale it’s in an approachable way, gorgeous glass chandeliers, blue velvet, long and busy bar … cocktails were lovely ( husband ordered me a 90210 😀)…we had pasta for our mains, my parpadelle with short ribs was amazing. Cheese cake for dessert was divine. Service was impeccable …Gina was our server. Professional, friendly, well timed.

This is a fine restaurant in downtown Cleveland. My beet salad was good, and my tagliatelle was terrific. Others in our group chose pasta dishes too and were pleased.
Service was friendly and fairly quick too.

We were accommodated for a pretty last minute reservation for a large group. The pre-set menu we chose was absolutely delicious and had something for everyone. Wine list was very good and the service was excellent. The lovely room we had was away from the main floor, but only separated by curtains, so it not isolated, which was very nice. Highly recommend!

This is an exceptional dining establishment! Don't be fooled because it is in the Marriott Hotel. It is well run and the staff are knowledgeable, very friendly and professional. Even the bartenders go the extra distance to make sure the drinks are perfect. Last but not least, the food is unbelievably exceptional Italian cuisine! 10 stars!!

The entire staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Treated us as though we were the only people dining there, which wasn't the case, of course. The food was excellent and the entire dining experience was so relaxing and comfortable. Prices were comparable to other fine dining establishments. Much more than I expected for a hotel restaurant. We will definitely return in the future.

Family dinner (9) on Saturday night at 8:30. Tough to get a reservation. Great seating and efficient and informed server. Delicious food, appealing plating, generous portions, and an extensive wine list. A bit pricey.

Arrived for lunch solo. Beautiful restaurant inside the Marriott. I ordered the meatball and polenta appetizer. Delicious and filling. I could not finish the polenta. I ordered chicken parmigiana. This was the largest portion that I have ever seen and sooooo tasty. I could only take a few bites and boxed it for later. My server Carina was great and made helpful suggestions. I highly recommend this Italian experience.
