First and last time at this restaurant. Food was overpriced and below average in taste, presentation and cleanliness. Server was upset with us because we sat ourselves after waiting about 5 minutes of not seeing anyone.Told us there was a sign that stated we should...have waited to be seated Should have left at that point. Pizza was some of the worst I ever had, salad was romaine that was quickly cut and unwashed. "House Italian" dressing is clearly commercial, bread is a par-bake white bread type. Meatball was inedible, strongly flavored with oregano along with the most acidic sauce I have ever tasted. As if the visit wasn't bad enough, a visit to the ladies room sealed the deal. Horrific is an understatement. An absolute filth hole, I would not repeat what I saw. When I returned to my table, I had to tell the server my astonishment regarding the restroom. She apologized, but it was clear she was very familiar with my disgust. I decided to leave my boxed uneaten pieces of pizza on the table after I saw the filthy restroom. She asked if I would like to take my pizza home, I told her I was uninterested because I could only imagine how the kitchen must look if the restroom was in such disorder. Shame on the owner. It takes a lot for me to write a review, but I feel this is a necessary intervention.More

Italian at it's best! We have been going for several years. Everything is made fresh and homemade. Salads are delicious especially their Italian dressing. A bit expensive but worth it.

Food is consistently good, recipes are mouth watering. One of the best Italian restaurants outside of Little Italy. We've only gone on Friday and Saturday nights and there has never been a wait for a table. Earlier this month we were told only pizzas were...available and it was ok if we didn't want to stay. As we didn't all want pizza we chose to leave. We decided to return this past weekend. Two of us ordered fettuccine. Later they told us they were out of fettuccine; one could have linguine and one could have penne. They didn't even have servings of linguine either.More

We had the ravioli lasagna with extra meat balls and the chicken parmesan. The food was good. The sauce was very watery and in need of spice and body. The bread was awesome! The service was not very personable. The atmosphere in the restaurant was...in need of an improvement. It felt like we were in an overpriced pizza shop. The food was very overpriced and sold almost alla cart.. They had up charged us for almost everything we ordered, even the pasta. There are way too many good Italian eateries in Cleveland to go to before I would ever come back here. I don't know if the owners think because they are in an upscale neighborhood they can charge the prices they do but the quality does NOT match the price.More

The wife and I ate here last week. Food was delicious! Huge portions. The veal parmigiana is a must. Calamari was good. It felt like we were in little Italy. We can't wait to go back.

I ate at this restaurant and it was horrible. First off, the service was terrible. After waiting forever, I had to go into the kitchen to get the server that was sitting and talking to get our boxes and check. The prices in the menu...are not what your bill will reflect. They overcharge you for everything. I was stunned. Nor did they tell you about the increases. The food is below average. Save your money.More

Everyone knows of a place that deserves all the attention in the world, but you really want to keep it secret for fear of difficulty getting in. Violante's is just such a place. The wife and I have dined there several times in groups of...four to six. My proud, cooking Italian wife says their sauce rivals any she's ever had. They're food is consistently good (no matter what you seem to order), servings are generous, and prices are very fair. We love this family-style place.More

Food was ok. Wait staff and management were VERY rude. Dont waste your time here, go to Burntwood Tavern next door instead.

My wife and I have always seen vigilante'so nestled between Burntwood Tavern and Hunan of the Falls, both excellent restaurants in themselves. Tonight (Nov 28th) we decided to stop there and try it after taking in a movie. Clean warm and very friendly, we ordered...a medium pizza and a the Tuscan shrimp appetizer... Everything was extremely delicious! We are returning tomorrow night with friends.More

They have amazing pizza! My whole family also likes their hot pepper pasta, but watch out! It's very spicy!!! Overall I will always come back for their food and comfortable atmosphere!
