I’ve been going to lunch at Bender’s Tavern for decades. It’s old, or historic, however you want to look at eat. It’s not cheap, but it’s good food, prepared right and served by a professional staff. Some of my favorites are the warm dinner rolls,...the Bender Fries and the daily lunch fish special and their desserts. They are heavy on seafood, I just had the Nantucket scallops only served in January and February, so good.More

We dined in Court Avenue this October, social distance was followed and the service was excellent. Our filet had great flavor but was cooked to medium instead of medium rare. Generally we order seafood which Benders is one if not the best in Canton. My...rating of 3 was because our steak was not cooked as we ordered and because early this year we wanted to use our gift cards given to us by our children. Benders would not let us use our gift cards for carry out. Our children normally give us a couple of hundred in gift cards each year, but due to the pandemic we did not want to dine inside. This year they made that known if you purchased a gift card. We will return to inside dinning at Bender's when the pandemic is over.More

The atmosphere is great, especially if you like historical decor. The service was good, but not professional. The menu selections are focused on seafood and steak.. We started off with both the escargot and foie gras.. The foie gras was just so so.. I’ve had...better and for the price I regretted ordering it.. The main meals of scrod and flounder were very good, just lil pricey. Would I return? Maybe depending on company and mood.. There are other alternatives I’d rather spend $100 on..More

I made the mistake of taking my fiancé there for her birthday this past Saturday. I was excited about the good reviews about the seafood. What a disappointing birthday evening and dining experience. To say that food was tasteless, bland, and boring would be an...understatement. Actually, the shrimp cocktail was okay. But the food overall was not even close to enjoyable or worth the money. The rolls were hard, and the sides were extremely mediocre. The waiter suggested that I order the $84 steak - explaining that it was aged... I ordered the steak medium. The steak was undercooked and completely fatty. I didn’t want to complain because it was my fiancé’s birthday. We paid and left, as soon as we could. It wasn’t like we were enjoying the ambiance. We decided to cook the remainder of the steak at home to try to salvage... There was no hope for it. My fiancé even called the steak “disgusting” - and she never complains about food. Fatty bad meat will stay fatty and bad. Shame on you for serving your customers bad meat.More

Delightful, outdoor meal at Benders last night. They have taken all precautions to make for a safe dining experience. And kudos to our wonderful server, Erica!

My wife and I were at Bender's for a late lunch, around 1:30. This was just a few days after reopening of the dining room. All the servers and other staff were masked up, and the tables were appropriately separated as shown in my photo....Paper, one use menus to assure cleanliness were in use. Jon Jacobs came by and chatted for a minute as well. Oh yeah -- usual great food! My wife had scrod a la Foley, and I had a cup of turtle soup followed by broiled scrod. Great to see them open again!More

Lovely old building. We had a lovely lunch and great service. Good setting to discuss business; be heard and not interrupted. Food is dependable but not inventive or special. Highly recommend.

Probably Canton’s finest dining, downtown for over 100 years. Vast and varied menu, superb seafoods, steaks, cocktails. Can handle groups and parties easily, with large trained and smooth professional staff. No problem parking or access (other than worn down threshold stone from years of foot...traffic!). Quality and neat atmosphere worth the $$$. Also massive wine selection. One of the best fine dining establishments we frequent.More

Ate here with a large group for a business dinner. The food was very good. The halibut was excellent! Very rich. Staff was friendly as well. The bar has a lot of atmosphere. The only reason I didn't give a 5, was their house specialty...fries were way over-salted. Other than that, everything was fantastic!More
