We decided to dine at this restaurant after having a positive experience in the past. However, our prior experience did not carry over to this visit. The night started with waiting for what seemed like a long time to be recognized by our server. When...she did recognize us she explained she was new on the job and would appreciate our patience. We were OK with that. My wife ordered an Italian chicken sandwich which was served hot and tasted OK. I ordered chicken tortilla soup and a pulled pork sandwich with fries. My soup came and the server warned that the bowl was very hot. It was but the soup in the bowl was at room temperature. I couldn't get the server's attention so I took the soup to the hostess at the front of the restaurant and asked if it could please be replaced. The pulled pork sandwich was delivered shortly after I returned to our booth. The fries were piping hot but the pulled pork was at room temperature. I told our server and she disappeared to talk to the manager while I decided to just finish the sandwich. Shortly thereafter the re-heated soup arrived. Shortly after I finished my pulled pork and soup another sandwich arrived which I declined as I was full of cold pork. Our requested glasses of water were brought to the table at the end of the meal. My wife asked for hot water (she had her own tea bags) but the server brought her hot tea. My wife asked to please bring hot water and the server brought one-half cup of hot water. I sympathize with a new employee because the food issues were not her fault. She was also tasked with serving several tables which was probably unfair - she needed help. I appreciate the manager's concern and crediting our bill for the pulled pork sandwich.More

My sisters and I met at the time server Jennifer Smith. This was our first visit to the Mackenzie River. She was and has been the absolutely most awesome waitress we have experienced anywhere. She was and is the best in the field. She was...and is very sweet, attentive, and always has her customers needs met. Jennifer makes sure the food/drink/service is well taken care of for all customers. On one of our visits, there Jennifer was making sure the restaurant decorations for appropriate occasions were being decorated. Then to come to find out she was promoted. Which was not a surprise to my sisters & I. And I'm sure she deserved it just from all of our experiences with Jennifer. Lastly. on our most recent visit, we found out our favorite server/assistant manage/excellent person in the business was moving here soon to Kentucky. May we just say Mackenzie River in Beavercreek Ohio will never be the same without the best in the field Jennifer Smith. She will be greatly missed by us sisters, her biggest fans. we will be back to Mackenzie River, but for us we are sad to see her go!!!!!! Sincerely, The Sisters/Lisa, Cindy & MaryMore

Wish this was in my town. We were making our way back home and stayed in Beaver Creek. TripAdvisor reviews led me to this place with the pictures of pizza. Was tempted to eat outside. But had a lot of space in the amazing restaurant....Amanda was excellent. Got us settled with cider. Told us the best on the menu. This was a hard choice. But we both ended up with pizza. Even on a small - personal size, overflows a dinner plate - you can split the pizza with two selections. I went with Polynesian and buffalo chicken on thin crust. The Polynesian was amazing. Canadian bacon, pineapple, mandarin oranges and almond slivers. The buffalo chicken also had the kick you would expect, celery included! We had to end with dessert. We ordered carrot cake. Amanda was gracious and also gave mud pie. I don’t want to write this and get her in trouble, or have you expect one on the house. But wow. That was good. Thank you. I would love this at my home of in Pinehurst, NC. I contacted corporate already...but looks like I have to pray a franchisee finds our market. Come here - often!More

Went there for the first time with a party of five. Our server’s name was Sidney and she was very helpful and friendly. Between the five of us we ordered two different types of pizza two different types of flat bread salad and burger. My...husband was surprised to see poutine with cheese curds on the menu and although we didn’t try them the manager said they were really good. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere.More

My friend and I came here on a Sunday around 1:30 and had the best meals ever. We had baked Ziti and chicken club rolls. But what was better than the food was the service. Sydney was on point. She knows the menu well and...can recommend anything your heart desires. She was amazing and we will definitely be back when she’s working.More

I was there with a large party, but the restaurant was mostly empty. I had to get up and get my own soda refill TWICE, I watched other members of the party also get up and get their own refill because the server just abandoned...us. I think I manager took over after a bit. I ordered the Humble Pie Pizza, it was nearly tasteless. I heard a coworker order a burger for Medium, it came out WELL DONE and dry, another coworker ordered a plain cheese pizza and didn't eat it because it was too greasy. Yet another coworker ate their lunch and when they were done there was atleast a tablespoon of oil on the bottom of their dish. The decor was quite nice, I did ask with all the birch tree decorations if they also had birch beer soda, the guy answered me with a list of beers, i said NO.. birch beer is like root beer but a different flavor.More

We had a great meal yesterday, but what was really excellent was our server Amanda. There was 7 of us for a birthday dinner and the meals were all excellent, and Amanda could not have given us any better service. Hon. Bob Doyle

Ordered the thin crust and wow it was really thin. That’s not always a bad thing, but the toppings and cheese came unusually far from the edge (1 1/2 inches). So the crust was hard enough to break a tooth. The toppings were few, and...I can tell you one thing, the tomato basil did not at all look as I have seen pictured. There is a Chicago pizza chain right across the street, and it was our mistake by trying something new. I agree with a recent comment, as it’s one and done for us too.More

We stopped in here last night while on our way home from a long day at the renaissance festival...we had never been and have been wanting to try...well this was our first and probably last time coming here...we got there and they weren't very busy...at all so got seated right away(party of 7). The waitress seemed very pushy about taking our orders wanted us to hurry it seemed like. When we tried to tell her how the checks were going to be split up while she was taking our orders she told us she wasnt worried about that right now...we were all like ...Ok?...so we ordered our food...half the food came out a few mins before every one elses... so some were waiting while others could eat...she kept reaching across our table and saying excuse my reach excuse my reach..(have us pass plates instead of reaching please)...when she took my cup to get a refill...she didnt have me remove my straw and of course her hand touched it and she acted like it was just a normal thing to touch people's straws...nowadays most people have you remove lid and straw so they dont touch it...we ordered our child a kids meal then when the bill came saw that we were charged 2.70 for his drink that was suppose to be included in his kids meal...I ordered the Cobb salad...when it came the chicken on it was super bland with no flavor or seasoning so my friend ate the chicken off my salad...the lettuce was super bitter and was starting to go bad so the ends were getting all black and slimy(mud like when they go bad)....I ended up just eating the boiled egg and a few tomatoes and the few pieces of avocado off my salad. When she brought the Bills she still didnt ask how it was suppose to be split up...remember she didnt care about that...well she just made the check the different sides of the table...one of our party members always likes to pay for herself...but since the lady didnt care about how they were split she didnt ask so she just put her in the other sides check...after she dropped the Bills she came back to pick them up then asked if we needed a box for my salad and our sons kids meal...I told her no it wasnt good so she got the manager...the manager removed it from the bill for us....however with all the other issues and being charged for our child's drink that should have been included in his kids meal...her touching my straw...not caring about how the checks were split and all the reaching...I'm pretty sure this was our first and last time coming here....More
