What a dining experience. Such a beautiful ambiance in the restaurant with modern décor, soft background music and warm, lighting - not to mention the stunning view overlooking the lake, big gum trees and birdlife. Our waiter was wonderful - attentive without being pushy, very helpful and great to banter with (we love a little banter). All this before we even tasted the food - wow. We couldn't fault a thing. You know when you're served steak and no steak knife is offered that it's going to be good (and it was!). Everything we ordered was stunning in presentation and wonderful to eat. Thank you for making our anniversary a special night. We'll be back next time we're out that way!

A beautiful lakeside spot for a scenic dinner. The restaurant was gorgeously fitted out, spacious, classy, and the staff extremely hospitable and attentive. The food was incredible from start to finish, and the 3 course menu is good value - we left feeling very full and very happy. We thoroughly enjoyed the very well priced Sangiovese, some of the best I had. Can’t wait to be back to sample the rest of the menu!

I have tried making a reservation for Mother’s Day and even that the website was short on table the staff was very helpful and accommodating to fit in my little kids too. The lunch was very pleasant as the atmosphere as we all know how challenging sometimes is dinning with kids under 3 but the staff didn’t hesitate for a second to be helpful and try make the kids happy. Dishes came out fast and were very delicious and nicely presented. I was offered complementary bubbles on arrival and kids were served first so we could e joy our meals too. Just a big Thank You to all the waiting staff for making it a nice experience. You are all superstars!

Lunch experiance was disappointing , from the atmosphare to the service and meal. Both entree sizes were more like an appetizer size rather than an entree size. The Vitello Tonnato veal was cut too thick and should have been wafer thin slices. the toast on the entree underneath the veal tasted like stale bread soaked in olive oil. The tuna sauce was very nondescriptive in taste. Could have well been commercially produced. The kingfish lacked flavour and the roast yam didnt compliment the kingfish and the composition of the dish. The mains were very small in size. The cornfed duck breast had the other half missing from the plate, it was tiny and the amount of sauce was nonexistent. The lamb was cooked well but not enough sauce to accompany the dish. The salad dressing in the side salad was very acidic, the salad fell flat with substance and ingredients. There was a lack of knowledge from the wait staff about the wines on the menu and the wait staff had to go off and look at wine tasking notes to answer our tasting questions. Considering there was a few wines (by the glass) substantial training would be beneficial. All in all for the total cost of the meal as it was pricey, it was a very disappointing experience and we certainly wont be back to the restaurant. There are plently more good restaurants in McLaren Vale that we would like to dine at.

We had a very enjoyable evening with great service, and a very knowledgeable waitress, who provided excellent advice and feedback on their extensive range of wines. The food was well presented, and delicious. The kitchen appears to be at the top of its game, without trying to over complicate dishes. Although the restaurant was not busy, there was a good atmosphere and attentive service throughout the meal. We had a delicious Serafino Shiraz, 2007, fairly priced and drinking perfectly.

We were staying at Serafino accommodation and intended Uber or cab into town for dinner but no one prepared to take our fare. So stranded in the foyer and a full Seragino restaurant, head waiter Ante set up an extra table for us and what a winner that turned out be. The food and service was magnificent and an experience we won’t forget. Ante created a super enjoyable environment where we all felt comfortable and had plenty of laughs. The food serves were generous and flavours absolutely outstanding. They turned a potential disaster into a wonderful experience. Thanks to Ante and all involved.

This was a deferred Mother’s Day dinner and it could not have been a happier or tastier occasion! For four people to be content with all 12 dishes collectively ordered is a pretty rare thing! Outstanding! The appearance of the prawn entree lacked a little presentation ‘finesse’ perhaps but the tastebuds awarded it 10/10 nonetheless! Beef was a popular choice for main course and it was cooked beautifully.  The Sharktooth Shiraz went down a treat with it. A specific request with the cheese for dessert was accommodated without hesitation. Service was efficient and genuinely helpful but we were obviously later stayers which meant towards the end of the night the majority of staff had finished up for the evening, so it was that bit slower getting desserts and coffees to the table.  We had a lovely table looking into the wine room and it really could not have been better all round. And staying on site, in the basic but clean, warm and functional motel rooms, meant only a few steps to bed :) So now we’ve been as a couple and as a group, and we can say the restaurant is very suitable for both situations.

Want a great night out? Serafino Mclaren Vale restaurant is the perfect place. The view is priceless! The lake and well manicured lawns are calming and easy on the eye. Team that with the bird life, and you have a fabulous start to your experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Very well presented and made with ingredients from their garden. Our waiter (Tony) was friendly, knowledgeable, thoughtful and made us feel at home. The wines were a perfect match for our meals- thank you Tony. We both left the restaurant feeling that we had celebrated our wedding anniversary in style.

The service was absolutely lovely. The person serving us and a few other staff members were very nice and all was great for that side of things. We did the degustation and wine pairing. The first courses were good but seemed a bit out of order as they went from dishes served with white wine (seafood), then to red (duck- that was pretty tasty) and then back to white (seafood with pasta and an oil based sauce (not a red sauce). Maybe it’s the right way but when I enquired about the chef’s choice to do that the server admitted that it was their first run with this chef and menu (I think that is what he said). Anyway it was all good but then the last two courses were not very well done. The sauce was burned so it had an unpleasant bite and the food was over salted and partly over seared. Even my partner who isn’t as fussy as me and loves his salt made a comment about it. I can see what the chef was trying to do. The presentations were beautiful but the food just wasn’t there with the refinement. The wines were paired quite well despite the other factors. I am expecting more when I’m fine dining and I personally think they could do a lot better. It’s probably really good for someone who isn’t fussy about food and a bit of a food and wine snob like me. I feel a little bad writing this review because the servers were so nice and I see the potential in the kitchen. They were so nice and it was apparently the chef’s first go at it so I didn’t have it in my heart to complain. Hopefully the review will inspire the chef and kitchen to really nail it.

My wife and I and 2 friends visited for dinner to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. On arrival to the restaurant I parked near to some gum trees, the grounds were full of correllas, and the noise from them was quite deafening.(more later) We sat down to order and there was confusion over which menu we had ordered (although we hadn't ordered any) Online there was advertised a degustation menu in addition to an al a carte menu and a fixed price 2 or 3 course menu. We asked to see the degustation menu, but we were told that it had to be ordered before visiting, there was no indication of this on their website, we eventually settled on the 2 and 3 course menu. We all ordered different starters and different mains,. Before the starter we were given an amuse bouche, unexpected but quite nice. The entrées were perfect all served together, The main courses were also just perfect everything just right. the restaurant was quite busy but the time in between courses was ideal. Both we and our friends have sons who teach cooking to a high standard so we know how difficult it is for chefs to attain this standard of food. I asked the waiter to thank the chef, I hope the owners who were also dining in the restaurant give the chef a pat on the back and a rise to keep him there, good chefs are hard to find! The 2 waiters on duty were really hard pushed to keep up with all the tables and another waiter would have made service look less hurried. So after a perfect meal we went outside to my recently washed car to find it absolutely covered in bird poo not a good end to a wonderful meal.

I was very excited to visit this venue but unfortunately it was very lack lustre. Upon arrival we were seated at our table in a very uninspiring large room. We thought our table to be in a not so nice position until we noticed another couple out for a romantic meal seated in a corner in front of a fire hydrant and cabinet , so it could have been worse for us. Staff only came near us when clearing dishes or offering next meal, no tip up of our drinks or checking we were ok at all. The meals were extremely uninteresting. I had the fish which had soggy skin in a sauce which was totally bland and my partner had the chicken which was was dry and flavourless . Our entrees also were less memorable. We had a better meal at the Mclarenvale hotel . Upon paying I was asked about my meal and mentioned I didn’t enjoy it and had left most They did offer a discount on one meal so I don’t want to be too harsh as I believe they did acknowledge my disappointment . Anyway not a winner in my books , venue, service food and wine 0

Having been advised that this restaurant was fantastic we booked several days accommodation for our stay in McLaren Vale and were looking forward to our dining experience. On arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to our table in a very pleasant atmosphere, orders taken, one entree ordered and was OK, nothing that special. Mains were ordered both of us ordered the same, Prawns with pasta and lentils, (interesting combination). This dish was served in a large dish resembling and upside down ladies race day hat. In the crown of this hat was the lentils and pasta topped with 3 small/medium fully intact prawns. We both were keen to sample this unusual combination. However there was only the 3 prawns on the top, the rest of the dish was just the pasta and lentils, very bland as there wasn't even prawn pieces mixed into this. We felt ripped off for the meal costs were more on the upper price point. The other question was "where do we put the prawn shells and clean our hands?" If this dish is still on the menu we would definately not recommend it unless there was at least prawn meat in with the pasta and more flvour. Still not sure of paring with lentils though. The time between entree and mains was so long I played building blocks with the wine cork decoration on the table.

The staff are very attentive, the restaurant is high quality but relaxed with a great lake setting. The menu was a fixed 2 or 3 course with great selections. The meals are a gourmet's delight especially when accompanied with the Serafina wines. We will be back.

Very nice environment and view. We have beef and fish on the menu, the steak just cook to what we like ( medium rare) , juicy, soft and tender 👍🏼. The snapper with anchovies top was very tasty combination.👍🏼👍🏼 Prices are very reasonable, good service , definitely will go back again!!! 🥰

I ordered a Coorong steak and glass of Serafino Cabernet Sauvignon..it was very tender, served in a light jus and cooked to perfection. My two grandchildren ordered off the children’s menu. All meals were very tasty. Staff were attentive and the atmosphere was relaxing. As it was just on sunset we could hear and see the birds in the nearby lake. A very peaceful scene.
