Went here for evening meal but stayed in the lounge because restaurant area was full. We had a lovely meal and it was nice and hot. The staff are very friendly and customer service was good. We have been a few times now and always enjoyed it.

To celebrate Mother's Day early we booked in at the Stag's Head early on the Saturday night beforehand. The restaurant was most unwelcoming decor-wise - dark 1970s wood everywhere, but worse was the temperature in the room - really cold. My daughter- in -law is now a vegan and was assured when she made telephone enquiries before our visit that... More

Attended a family party. Atmosphere was good and the staff very professional and attentive. Food had been pre ordered so all arrived together, well presented. Now the negatives, steaks were well done not medium. Puddings seemed shop brought rather than freshly made, the worse presented and tasted profiteroles i have had, and they are so easy to make. Great company... More

Visited the Stag for an afternoon drink after shopping with my partner. Have heard about the Stag previously as being worth a visit. On entering it became apparent that we would not be struggling for a table as it was virtually empty (at peak Sunday lunch time). Ordered a Desperado only to be told that it was not stocked, then... Whilst I can't fault the service and attentiveness of the staff the food on offer was distinctly average and somewhat pricey. OK if you live round the corner but not worth the trip otherwise.

Was looking forward to a good meal. Pricier than some pub meals so had high expectations. Pork fillet and chorizo skewers in Thai sweet chilli sauce were a bit tasteless - better when I asked for additional sauce. Family had lasagne which was tasty but came with a teaspoon of coleslaw and mountain of chips despite asking for one a... More

We visited here with my sister and her fiancé to celebrate their engagement. We had booked a table for 7:30. We ordered drinks and our mains almost immediately and our mains were on our table piping hot at 7:55. Super quick. The plates were hot, and the food was piping hot. - just as it should be. I had the... More

This place is okay. if you lived locally, you would go to avoid cooking/washing up. The food was hit and miss, the pie was fantastic, the pasta below average. The veg however was terrible. For the quality of food, the price was too high compared to other places nearby. Can't fault the staff or service however - both were excellent.
