A disappointing visit to the Stags Head for a Sunday Roast. Two of our party ordered the mixed meat roasts; the turkey and pork were really tasty but the rest of the meal was just "alright". The Yorkshire pudding was as flat as a pancake and the stuffing ball was over cooked and shrunken. Vegetables were parsnips, greens (very watery)... More

Visited Sunday for 1st time after recommendation, as there was a small group of us we had pre-ordered about 10 days before our planned visit. Although the staff were very friendly, the service was very slow, we were shown to our table and foolishly expected our first course to be served almost immediately, after almost an hour we had to... On first appearances this place has everything required for a quiet family meal, warm cosy pub atmosphere, extremely friendly staff and plenty to choose from on the menu. Sadly after that it's all downhill if you decide to order anything other than traditional pub grub such as steak or pie as the a-la-carte menu offers a wide range of choice... More

My partner and I, along with our 2 children (5 & 7) had a lovely evening here, this evening. When we arrived we thought it looked very pretty, a very traditional village pub. The inside decor and furniture is quite dated but it adds to the village pub feel. The waitress who greeted us was really lovely and very polite.... More

We visited this restaurant for a family Birthday, not having been before. There were 8 of us and had travelled around 45minutes to get there. The service was fine and we ordered our food. 3 of us had the Lamb Shank. 3 had the suet pudding, one had sausage and mash and one had lasagne. When the food arrived, straight... More

We had read the reviews and decided to pop by for a Sunday lunch. We were greeted by a pleasant lady who showed us to our table and promptly brought our drinks. However it was down hill from there. The restaurant was very cold. The heating was on briefly but it soon went off and was bitterly cold. Out starters... More

We normally do not respond to comments on Trip Advisor good or bad, but knew this one would be coming, so thank you as it has given me the opportunity to reply. First and foremost, you were the rudest customers I have come across in my 25 years of owning The Stag’s Head. You were extremely intimidating and the bully... More
