Have driven all the way from London Heathrow and arrived in Kegworth after 9 pm. . We needed to have some food to eat at a late time. The hotel suggested couple of places for us to try our luck. One of those recommend was the cotter. This is a long established local eatery. It serves local. The place is... More

Just a pleasant, old-fashioned English restaurant with some Continental choices. Warm, friendly service; well-cooked meals; ridiculously generous portions; very reasonable prices. The food was better than a meal the night before at the trendy Marco nearby.

We had not been to The Cottage for a long time it has not changed at all. Yes it appears a little dated but the food was very nicely cooked with excellent service. Overall very good value for the good food and we will not be leaving it as long to visit again.

This is lovely to look at from the outside front. The entrance is round the side and the front bar is also period and pleasant. The dining room at the back is far newer, but not fully modern. I don't mind that at all and to my mind the reviews that are critical on that count are rather unfair. The... More

This restaurant is lovely from the outside if a little dated inside, and there is a slight musty smell which maybe you should expect in a building of its age. but the welcome, the good food, excellent service and the reasonable prices more than make up for any initial misgivings. I would highly recommend that you eat here if you... More

Came for Sunday Lunch - excellent as usual, no mass produced/microwaved rubbish! Daughters had beef and gammon with pineapple I also had gammon with home cooked chips, roast potatoes, peas, cabbage, carrots and mash. Vegetable soup to die for and a good selection of desserts - will be back soon

If your looking for a trip back to the 1970's then this is the place for you. Unfortunately, it's not meant to be that way but it just is. Green velvet seats in the waiting area, the old wooden bar, a fusty smell and decoration to match. Even the menu is one from the past. The dining room is airy... More

Had a lovely meal with my two daughters, the proprietor couldn't have been more welcoming, the meal was lovely - we had gammon with fresh pineapple, beef and Yorkshire pudding, home made chips, roast potatoes, new potatoes, peas, cabbage and carrots. I wish that the child age limit could be extended as a smaller portion would suit my older daughter... More

Very dated decor, the whole place is still set in the 1980s but the food.... you can't fault it. Great quality and very generous portions. The whole place just needs updating. Would I go back.... Yes because the food was great.
