It's a bird watchers treat. Although the eating area is small it is well packed with tables. The food is well worth waiting for a table. There is such a selection of mugs on display to buy. Spend time to brouse the wide selection of deli and gift packaged goods.

Called in for a cup of tea and a bakewell slice. Tea was ok, tea bags in pots, nothing special, and the bakewell was pleasant. The little flyer we picked up on the counter while we were waiting to be served said we would be assured of a warm welcome. In fact we were ignored for about 2 minutes by... More

Saw the herb centre when passing by so turned the car around to have a nosey inside. A fabulous deli was inside with all kinds of wonderful treats and chocolates, plus a great selection of cheeses and other goodies. Took a seat by the window to eat in the café just in front of all the bird feeders and took... More

The title is our family's name for this lovely cafe which has long been a favourite. Good and plentiful food, and a lovely view of many bird feeders which attract lots of different bird species. The shop attached has some tasty treats too!

The cafe side of this pla is lovely. Some people will say expensive but you get what you pay for. Soup always lovely and fresh. Tuna melt - massive! Whilst your there you must try the oils opposite the till - the fig and date balsamic glaze is to die for!

It would be easy to drive past without noticing so look out for this small herb and garden centre on the road from Hope to Hathersage . The star feature is the lovely little cafe/restaurant which overlooks the River Derwent and , just outside the panoramic window , a huge bird-feeding station so you can watch dozens of birds of... We had lunch there today, the service was very good, the senior staff person was most accomodating. The food was excellent. We loved watching the birds, I,d not seen a nuthatch at such close quarters before- great. Providing bird identification books for each window side table is really helpful. The deli was good also, with a superb range of olive... More

Although this is a most unexpected attraction Superb fun to observe our wildlife at close quarters and full marks to whoever thought of this one. Grand viewing, but not sure if mum and the kids at their window table for a prolonged session would be too welcome at a busy lunchtime. Watched the birds on two occasions - firstly late... More

We stopped here with friends who live in Derbyshire, had a nice brew and a very nice piece of cake, the wild birds made it a very pleasant day and totally unexpected. we bought a few things from the shop and would certainly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
