Not an extensive menu but that may be deliberate and it does offer variety. Perhaps suited to adults (as we were) rather than young children. The two of us both chose the home made lamb burger which came well presented with relishes and sauces and importantly, was hot and cooked perfectly. Staff were courteous and attentive. We hesitated about a... More

A friend and I had dinner there on a Friday night. PROS - the carbonara was the nicest pasta dish I have ever eaten - good service - excellent value CONS - the dessert (chocolate pot) wasn't quite at the same level as the main course - they are a bit slow to respond to messages enquring about reservations Overall,... He goal was to enjoy a little bit of italian cuisine. Well not quite happened. Ordered chilli prawn tagliatelle: pasta was not quite right. It was a kind of undercooked and the consistency of it was well let's say poor. We let the staff know about it and they've cooked another one without any problem, which was good customer service... Finally somewhere decent to eat in Castleton. Friendly staff, excellent food. Don't miss the Tapas here. Wide variety and the ones we tried were excellent. The creamy garlic mushroom were delicious, the white bait succulent and the chorizo risotto carefully made. The portions were generous too. A little more expensive than the local pubs but this is a quality restaurant... More

This is currently ranked as the Number 1 restaurant in Castleton but that does not do it justice as both Numbers 2 and 3 in the rankings are just decent pubs serving typical pub grub and this is a really very good restaurant. We ate there one evening and were very pleased with both the quality of the food and... More

Fantastic meal, had the tapas seabass and tapas calamari with chorizo. Also the calamari starter is very good. Best desert: Apple pie Well worth noting that children are welcome, this wasn't made clear on the menu outside. Tapas pizza for the children is a good idea. Booked a table the Friday afternoon, when we arrived at 7pm people were being... More

We stayed just outside the village, but dined here on two consecutive evenings. The restaurant has a really nice feel about it and the food was delicious. All the staff were lovely, polite, and friendly, in particular, Heidi, a lovely girl. The kitchen is on view, from two of the high seated tables, and everything that came through the hatch, looked amazing. Don't... More
