We have been here a few times particularly because they are so dog friendly. Beware though it can get extremely busy as they seem to attract a long tourist season in Castleton. You can book for the restaurant but you cant for the lounge where...More

We had a lovely meal here. The staff were very friendly and we were able to take our dog into the bar area. I had the lime chicken from the specials board and it was one of the tastiest dishes I have had, very fresh...More

Visited at opening time on a Sunday, very friendly welcome from the ladies behind the bar. I ordered Lamb roast and my good lady had the beef. Both were superb, served with vegetables and all the food piping hot, and a good amount of grub!...More

Dropped in for a Sunday lunch and enjoyed a pleasant beef roast with tender thin slices of meat great roast potatoes and vegetables. This cosy pub just off the Main Street was not crowded and pleasingly hosted our dog it's no fuss.

Good old English pub, nothing offensive, nice staff with a lovely lady who has know idea how to get tipex off the till top! (Neither do I) Fancy a sensibly priced pint in a place that's getting more expensive this is it.

Nice pint of Bombadier. Ordered Reabbit pie, none left. Ordered lamb and black pudding served with frozen centre. Yet another establishment that cannot meet their menu or serve it correctly cooked. Avoid and try somewhere else.

Nice pub for a drink after a long walk. Friendly and welcoming. We haven't eaten there so can't comment on the food but it looked good.

We once had a lovely lunch at the restaurant so this time we wanted to take our friends with us. Fortunately the food was amazing again, everyone was very happy. I loved my sizzling fajitas. Good value for money, definitely will visit again.

Friendly pub with indoor and outdoor seating. Real ales and pub grub. Good views of Peveril Castle. We enjoyed sitting outside for a couple of hours and watching the world go by.
