Stopped for meal before flying from east mids. Kitchen wasn't officially open till after 5pm, the boss said not to worry and went in kitchen, served us an amazing lebonese platter and whatever the kids wanted, not strictly off menu. Amazing chargrilled chicken wrap, tuna, superb salad and brilliant home cooked chips. Enough for 10 people! Beautiful garden and decor,... More

Stopped on way to the airport & was really worth the visit. We both chose the lasagna & wasn't disappointed! Good size portions, reasonably priced, fast & efficient service. Will return

Quaint little pub nestling on the edge of a small village in rolling English Countryside - seemingly miles from anywhere! But actually Castle Donnington is a few minutes easy drive from the M1, and or East Midlands Airport and thus the world!... Parking to rear and side of pub, classic limited head room and olde world features. Step through the... More

I visited the Nags Head twice this week for lunch and wasn't disappointed. The first lunch was the flat bread rolls with Shawarma and the second visit was the same but with Falafel and a few extra chips. The restaurant looked clean and tidy with some interesting pictures of old movie stars on the wall. We did try and guess... More

The only positive thing about our flight home from holiday was that it landed perfectly timed for lunch and, after two excellent meals at The Nags Head during the previous four years, we were really looking forward to visiting again. Unfortunately, this occasion was very disappointing. The mutton was delicious and the pasta was excellent but the steak was overcooked... More

Stumbled upon this place while out with friends and ended up lingering over a lovely lunch. Varied menu-we all had different mains and all enjoyed them. Good service, friendly without being intrusive. Recommend.

It would have been great to post a review in line with the most recent and I find I cannot. Upon arrival we were greeted by a chap who seemed to be the owner who stayed seated and let us find our way to a table nearby. He said his daughter was running the place. In good time, a very... More

A chance encounter as I was attending an exhibition at Donnington Park. Excellent menu and value for money. The food was outstanding, the service attentive and friendly and the range of real ales good. There is. Car park and the bar is a friendly place with locals and visitors mixing happily. A great find.

Recently flew out of East Midlands Airport and trip advised local eateries. The Nags Head came up so we decided to give it a try. Good choice. The menu was varied, the Specials Board had something for everyone, the staff were very friendly and the Manager/owner was very hands on in a good way and he was very interested in... More

Thank you for your kind review. If you eat with us again, be sure to specify the home-made fries when you order, although they are usually served as the regular option and the French fries only if specifically requested. We are delighted that you would recommend us to other travellers. Thank you! More
