Situated in the lovely village of Mappleton, within spitting distance of the Staffordshire border. Good sized car-park. Inside is pretty contemporary, clean, light, with a great working log burner. Staff warm and friendly. Good choice of food, on the menu, and on the 'specials' board. Lovely fresh and well cooked vegetables. All served piping hot and good sized portions. Our... More

We passed this place after taking a wrong turn from where we were staying and decided to make a point of going back. The staff were very friendly and got us a table even tho they were busy, the food was fantastic and we regretted not coming earlier in the week. I'd recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment and you... More

Walked in at 12:30 on a Friday lunchtime out of season, and the place was quite busy, but we got a table no problem. Beer was interesting and well-kept (I had the Okeover Ale). Draughty cider was nice but a little sweet. Food arrived impressively quickly, and was about two-thirds the price I would have expected to pay in Cambridgeshire.... More

Came across this pub by accident one evening whist staying in the area.It was rather busy for a Monday evening which is always a good sign so probably advised to book a table if you wish to eat.The food was excellent with a good choice and you could also order smaller portions. The standard portions were a good size!! The... More

Called here on Friday night for a drink. For early evening the pub was full with people calling for a drink and a meal. The staff are friendly and efficient. The Friday evening special is fish and chips which were excellent. Also great value at £15 for 2. We were lucky to get a table as most were reserved. If... More

I've recently spent 4 nights here and the food was a mixed bag. Firstly the bar and waiting staff are very friendly. The pub concentrates on pub favourites and for the most part does this well however my steak was never medium (medium/well at best) and I found my belly pork too dry. The fish and chips was excellent. Prices... More

We had a warm welcome and most attentive service. The food was honest and well cooked. There was a good menu providing excellent choice as well as gluten free and also vegetarian options for those want them. The decor was contemporary and comfortable. After a morning walking it was a wonderful retreat and relaxing end to a day out.

I rarely grade places as excellent but honestly The Okeover Arms really is exactly just that. Tourists staying locally we were advised to go here. So impressed that we invited friends to join us a 2nd time around. Yes, a bit rough round the edges. Yes, popular & quite crowded. But also ...quality homemade good individually made English food, wide... More

Came on the off chance, as we had tried The Old Dog in Thorpe, but discovered they don't serve food on Monday evenings. Well, it was lucky for us, as we discovered a gem. Really tasty home cooked food, good beer and helpful, smiling service. What more could yo ask for?
