We Love the Vagabond. However we visited for a meal last night and were extremely disappointed. Starters came out mistimed which meant we had finished starters when our requested breads came. The food could not be faulted. There were no ice buckets for a bottle...of warm white wine and following this were informed there was no ice for 2 gins. No sirloin streaks were available 😳 even though the start of the evening. Main course we had a rump steak delivered which was seriously undercooked and had to be returned which meant 3 had nearly completed their meal when the final meal came out. Again, meals were good but very disappointing on service. Finally we left a £10 tip for the waitress who had to deal with out moaning. This was then returned to us as an apology?! So not quite sure our voluntary £10 which we didn’t have to give, being returned... was fair on the waitress?! Will of course visit again but just very disappointed with the service on this occasion.More

Wonderful , attentive and friendly staff serving outstanding high quality food. This hidden gem is near the quay side at Whitehaven Harbour . Six of us went for Lunch yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed our choices. There is a varied menu to suit everyone’s taste. Portions...were generous and a wide selection of fresh vegetables. Goulash was excellent. It was so good we returned for our evening meal and enjoyed our choices again with staff showing us the same excellent service we had experienced at Lunchtime. Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant. Thank you to all the staff for making our our day in Whitehaven a day to remember.More

I don't know the nationality of the proprietors or chef but they can certainly turn out a great goulash, not overly hot just packed with flavour & tender beef, both my wife & I thought the best we have ever had ! Service was friendly & efficient....Ambience on our visit was fine but I dare it can be very lively at times ! No nasty shocks with the bill. All in all a very enjoyable visit & would definitely go again !More

Ordered a Sunday takeaway dinner. Was really pleased with the quality and the quantity of the meal we received. The Beef we ordered was superb along with the vegetables. The whole meal was very well packaged and was hot on arrival. I would highly recommend...trying this establishment to anyone. I will certainly use the Vagabond again.More

We went to the Vagabond on Thursday evening and had an amazing family meal, yet again the staff and the food were outstanding. I had decided to try the Caribbean curry, I can honestly say it's one of the nicest currys I have ever had,...the meals are plentiful and good produce used. Staff were really helpful and the covid procedure should be adapted by more venues.More
