We went here twice in one week as it was so good. The chef was so helpful and made sure my daughter got a suitable meal as she could not have anything with dairy or soya due to allergies. The food was brilliant and delicious. The Mediterranean chicken is a must have! Will definitely be back next time we are... More

Whenever we visit the lake District we try to see the Duddon Valley as it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. Each time we call into the Newfield Inn where there is always a warm welcome. On our last visit we were on our scooter and had got a proper soaking from the offset, we... More

Great place for local food and ale with a large beer garden and larger field out the back with plenty of grass for kids to run amok.

Actually located 6 miles from Broughton down a single track road which takes an age to travel down but the scenery is worth the trip. Typical country pub with open fire and a beautiful beer garden at the back overlooking the mountains. Food is a grade up from your standard pub food although service can be slow. Several real ales... Went climbing in Dunnerdale for the weekend and ate here Saturday night with friends. Definitely not disappointed!!! 3 of us ordered Beef and ale pie, delicious!!! Really quaint country pub in a fantastic location. Will definitely be back. Stayed in a b & b owned by previous owners of the pub. Brilliant hosts. Massive comfy bed and scrummy breakfasts. Ask... After looking on Trip Advisor for a good place to eat, suggested by the excellent reviews, we decided to visit the Newfield Inn. We had a table booked for 7.30pm. When we arrived at 7.20 it was very noisy and crowded and it was difficult to get to the bar as it was occupied by people chatting and queueing. We... More

We stayed at High Moss Cottage and walked to the Inn every day. The staff were always friendly and kind - filling up water bottles for walkers and happy to chat about the area. The fish and chips was so good - chef's own tartare sauce and skin-on chips - that I ordered it again on the second visit. The... More

Spent the weekend in one of the flats owned by the pub so popped in for food and drink a few times. Everything we had was delicious with ample portions and the staff were lovely. We are already planning our return.

Called in for light lunch: just sandwiches for two and coffees. After 20 mins and nothing had arrived we had to ask again for the coffees. Another 20 mins before the sandwiches arrived. When we complained we were told that there was a party in the restaurant and they were busy (we were in the bar). This was a poor... More

As a regular visitor to turner hall farm and the Duddon valley for the past 18 years I have a huge soft spot for the Newfield inn. I'm happy to report the new owners are doing a fantastic job. The new menu is smaller and differs from the old but offers great value for money. I was part of a... More
