Went twice in one day it was such a nice pub. Despite being swamped by large numbers of customers the staff were very welcoming and friendly and dealt with the numbers and the inevitable problems that produces very well. Went back for supper which was excellent - traditional pub food with an individual touch - home made chips, tatre sauce,... More

I was a regular visitor to this pub twenty years ago when and it was a fun place to be in a lovely part of the world. recently re-visited after a long absence for a couple of drinks, still a lovely part of the world with friendly staff but not quite the pull it used to be.

A recent change of management left us really disappointed in this wonderful pub we have been visiting for many years. Unfriendly welcome and some of the most dire pub food I have had in a long time. We may have have caught them on an off day but will think twice before eating here again. Such a shame as it... More

I've been coming to this place for 25 years and it's a great little pub/restaurant in the heart of a quiet secret gem of a valley. The new owners here seem to be doing a great job, and the service is great

The food is pub food, good and tasty and can be a while before you receive it on busy day's! we live here and know when to go, the staff are top and the trip to get there is lovely too so overall a cracking place.

We went here twice in one week as it was so good. The chef was so helpful and made sure my daughter got a suitable meal as she could not have anything with dairy or soya due to allergies. The food was brilliant and delicious. The Mediterranean chicken is a must have! Will definitely be back next time we are... More

Whenever we visit the lake District we try to see the Duddon Valley as it is one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited. Each time we call into the Newfield Inn where there is always a warm welcome. On our last visit we were on our scooter and had got a proper soaking from the offset, we... More

Great place for local food and ale with a large beer garden and larger field out the back with plenty of grass for kids to run amok.

Actually located 6 miles from Broughton down a single track road which takes an age to travel down but the scenery is worth the trip. Typical country pub with open fire and a beautiful beer garden at the back overlooking the mountains. Food is a grade up from your standard pub food although service can be slow. Several real ales... Went climbing in Dunnerdale for the weekend and ate here Saturday night with friends. Definitely not disappointed!!! 3 of us ordered Beef and ale pie, delicious!!! Really quaint country pub in a fantastic location. Will definitely be back. Stayed in a b & b owned by previous owners of the pub. Brilliant hosts. Massive comfy bed and scrummy breakfasts. Ask...
