A beautiful, and modern country pub. From the gardens outside to the decor inside, very chic yet they have kept the character well. Great service from the pub landlord, very friendly, welcoming and helpful - nothing was too much to ask. They serve possibly the best hot chocolate I've ever tasted, and it even comes with a taster of cake.... More

Weather was nice so took a run out & decided on here for lunch. A member of the party had been to dine there before. Nice setting. Friendly staff. Service a tad too slow considering it wasn't that busy. Food was tasty. My pie could have been a little hotter, would have asked for it if it was a cold... More

Local to the area so know this pub. It's in a wonderful setting so sat out for a drink- couldn't find a clean table top. Looked like they hadn't had a hose down since winter. Bad start. Ordered a variety of food but it was all bland and lacking oomph. And also not hot enough. Steak in the pie tough... More

My wife and I along with son and daughter in law visited here for lunch. Recent reviews suggested an improvement since we last visited which was some time ago. Staff were friendly and attentive, the meal was tasty although not brilliant, the setting adds to the experience especially on a sunny day as the garden area is particularly pleasant.

We came at Christmas for lunch and were impressed with both the meal and the service. We had been for Sunday lunch before and not been as impressed but decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. The day was glorious which made the lovely setting of the pub even better. I had asked for a table overlooking... More

The picture on TA bely the beauty of this pub. The gardens are well kept and attract a reasonable amount of evening sunshine. The arrangement of the restaurant and conservatory is beautiful and the pub section is also well kept and presents a glimpse of the past. Staff very helpful and polite and attentive. Great selection of beers and wines... More

We came quite a way to eat having read the menu.So disappointed,The smoked salmon and prawn starter was bland, with little sauce. We asked for at least 10 mins between courses, and the steaks arrived within 5 mins,no excuse as they were not busy at all.My salad was not good with very little French dressing as I had asked for.The steaks were... Description
The Nag's Head situated in the picturesque hamlet of Haughton, near Tarporley, has been standing since 1680, so its seen some history during its time. Now with menus created by Michelin Star chef Nigel Haworth, it has been transformed following an extensive but sympathetic and loving refurbishment into one of the county's finest regional food pubs.

Just off the beaten track and only a couple of minutes drive from the bustling village of Bunbury, Tudor styled full of character and charm, surrounded by beautiful countryside, steeped in history with nearby attractions such as Beeston Castle, Tatton Park and the restored Water Mill at Bunbury.

As quintessentially English as a pub can be, The Nag's Head represents everything a fine Cheshire pub should be, a bowling green, kitchen garden, a delightful al fresco dining garden perfect to celebrate our British Summer and four crackling log fires inside make it the ideal winter dining and drinking destination too. From cocktails on the lawn to hearty meals by the fire, The Nag's Head will truly be a destination for all lovers of great food local ales, fabulous wines and real Northern hospitality.
