Was treated to Afternoon Tea at Davenport's Tea Rooms for my Birthday. What a fabulous spread!!! Consider myself quite an officianado of Afternoon Teas, and this place is really the best. The produce, if not from their own farm, if locally sourced and wonderfully fresh. The bread of the finger sandwiches was soft and light, showing just how fresh it... More

Called into Davenports tea room as my wife and I were out for a drive on a sunny day, my wife saw the Davenport sign and we called in for a late lunch. You could tell it was popular with the locals as we were asked if we had made a reservation, as we hadn't we had a very limited... More

Tea rooms with Alice in Wonderland theme. Just held my 60th birthday party there. We had a wonderful time with afternoon tea. I worked with Belinda Davenport who was happy to make adaptations to the standard for me. My guests who came from near and far said that it was the best afternoon tea ever and that they felt that... This is a hidden gem in the countryside but it is spoilt by the female owner/manager! We had not asked for anything when we were barked at "no lunches, tea and cake only I have a party of 20 in for lunch". Hardly a welcoming reception! We ordered and sat in the garden waiting, and waiting. Eventually served and the... More

When someone writes a review such as yours, I have the choice of writing a response or doing nothing. Doing nothing is not an option, as your review would suggest to other customers that things you have said is an accurate picture of our business, when it is not. The garden has seating capacity of 5 large tables, seating almost... More

Visited here for coffee and cake with a friend. Staff pleasant and welcoming. Quiet seating area in the garden as well as interior tables. All the scones allocated to booked afternoon teas but can recommend the fruit loaf and butter!

The atmosphere was good, the service was efficient and friendly, the food was good quality but we found the salads somewhat insubstantial for the price charged. Excellent choice of teas and cakes. Would probably go back for afternoon tea but it would not be our first choice for a lunch.

I'm absolutely not the type who goes off searching out tea shops but we were on a longish journey and saw the sign off the A49 so thought we'd have a look. This place is a real gem of immense character and high quality. Set up in a very traditional old English style with quirky overlays of Alice in Wonderland,... More

Lovely lunch here yesterday despite it being very busy for the mad hatters tea party. We were served very quickly and the food was excellent.

I visited here with six friends yesterday. What a lovely experience. I had the best toasted teacake ever! My friend who has coeliac disease was amazed to find such a great choice of cakes for her to eat! We enjoyed it soooo much we booked for the Victorian Christmas Afternoon Tea .

Description
An award winning farm shop and tea room, situated in a beautiful countryside location, just off A49 holiday route and close to both the Trent & Mersey Canal and River Weaver. Seating up to 45 within three sections, which are themed around local author Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, with additional seating within their tea garden. On site a long established florist, a flower and plant nursery, beauty barn, a furniture and gift shop and a small variety of rare breed animals. Thirty-five loose leaf teas and two pages of artisan coffees, delicious home-made cakes and a good selection of delicious home-made light lunches, not to mention the award winning Afternoon Teas they specialise in, all make a visit very special. It can be very busy, therefore booking in advance is highly recommended to avoid disappointment. This establishment operates an in-house customer comment card system and monitors feedback. They respectfully request customers to contact them directly should there be any areas where they could improve.
