We went to the thatch for a meal with our friends. It was totally gorgeous. The staff were friendly, helpful and very knowledgable of their menu. I would recommend anyone to go. Sunday lunch is fantastic too

Came here for lunch, as we were passing. We were pleasantly surprised that they were able to find us a table even though we hadn't booked. Staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent. We needed a gluten free option and went for the fish pie which was very good. Would definitely recommend this place, have just booked again... More

I work in the area and the family were joining me over the weekend. We weren't disappointed by our visit to the Thatch. Tasty food and very good service from a friendly team. Every course was excellent value, well presented and very tasty. I would go back for sure to this pretty pub.

From organising this lunch to going and eating there, everything was so easy thanks to John! He replied to my emails in a timely manner and with a little bit of humour in there to take some of the pressure off me (I was planning a lunch for around 35 people with a weeks notice!) When we did arrive the... More

You never booked a table with us. Your father ( a regular here) organised it and preferred the table(s) you sat at to a single table that I offerred him. You seem to have a predelection towards calling food cold. Your daughters friend, yours, your mothers - all cold? Do you seriously expect people to believe you? I came over... More

Value for money is shockingly poor, 14.95 for chicken fajitas which consists of four raps of which each on had random holes in them for your food to pour out whilst eatin, the chicken was tasteless, and three pots of sauce,no chips no salad no cheese absolutely nothing to go with them!!! My partner had buttiflied chicken breast with a garlic... More

Beautiful English thatched roof pub. Larger inside than you would expect from looking at the outside. There is a varied menu plus a set Sunday lunch menu. Good, attentive service, nice surroundings and good food. Slightly disappointing roast potatoes; they were cooked but were very hard to get into! I'm not into complaining unless something is really bad so, I... More

Thats the thing about roasties - you never know when they're going to have a bad day! Seriously though I remember your table and your issue with the potatoes. Promise we will make sure the little buggers dont harden up on us again. Come back and test them out for us. Thanks for the 4 stars!! More

Last Friday, we made one of our fairly regular visits to the Thatch. This is a beautiful pub both inside and out, and the staff are very polite and friendly, at all times. I chose the "roast of the day", which turned out to be ham egg and chips......we had a laugh about this with the waitress. Sadly, the egg... More

Katherine Thanks for your review but I am rather confused. We dont do roasts on a Friday and what you describe as your meal is a gammon, not a roast. Nevertheless, the fact that your experience here was not completely satisfactory is regretted. Did you mention to the waitress when she checked back with you that your meal wasnt as... More

I've lost track of how many times I've made a mental note to visit The Thatch, so yesterday, prompted by a break in the clouds and my wife's constant requirement to eat somewhere pretty, preferably with a nice garden, a river, fairy lights and a log fire burning 365 days a year we made the 40 minute journey to Faddiley.... My wife and I were travelling cross country last week, and whilst on the M6 researched on Tripo where would be a good option in Cheshire, to stop off for a 'country pub' meal. The Thatch had very positive reviews, so we did a 25 minute detour off the motorway, just beyond Nantwich to the very rural setting in Faddiley....... More

You'll have to move house, thats the answer! The pub's been here since 1495 so I cant move it, the locals would murder me. Thank you for your review, its very welcomed, as are you when you return. Make a day of it, there's loads to see around here. More
