Recently booked a table for three for Wednesday 13th April only to get a call from you to ask if we could rearrange the day to Thursday 14th as you were ordering more outdoor heaters. Not a problem Thursday is fine as was looking forward...to dining out again. We arrived and did all the necessary Covid procedures and were escorted to our table which did not have a heater. We had blankets for our legs and for the first half an hour it was fine then the cold kicked in. We were absolutely freezing to the point when while my daughter and myself were having a pudding my wife was shivering so much that she had to depart to the car to get warm. We were so disappointed with this as we were paying the same prices as people who were comfortable under their heaters. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly but trying to eat food when you are so cold and shivering put a real disappointing end to what should and could have been a wonderful night.More

Excited to try the Vicarage outdoor dining, due to Covid restrictions being eased. We went a night later than expected as the hotel had contacted us to say they needed to put more heaters in place for outdoor dining. Staff were very friendly and helpful....Food was lovely despite that there was a slight glitch as they forgot to serve some mash with a main course but soon rectified. Big problem was the cold. No heaters at or near our table. After an hour this began to impact massively on our enjoyment. In summary, great staff, reasonably priced good food but major teething troubles with getting the right ambience (and temperature) for the outdoor dining experience.More

We stayed here overnight with family before a funeral. We had drinks in a cosy lounge and a lovely meal together in the restaurant. Quirky, interesting decorations and the rooms were well appointed with unusual wallpaper. Slight mix-up meant we didn't stay the extra night...(I thought I'd booked a deal but hadn't) which was a shame...but as the impending lock-down was announced on the way home it was maybe just as well!More

We met another couple in the outside venue, the teepee. It was excellent. Warm fire, good food and excellent service from Sam. Covid restrictions applied well, would recommend.

We ate at The Vicarage with 2 friends in the Tipi last night,. It was thoughtfully decorated with festive lights, lanterns and throws, our table was next to a heater so we didn't feel cold at all. The service was excellent, our waiter being amazingly...polite and attentive. I had prawn cocktail then scampi both served beautifully and tasted delicious. An excellent experience all round.More

I was treated (twice) to Sunday lunch being delivered to our door as we are shielding. I had to 'phone to alter the time of delivery and the lady I spoke to was friendly and efficient, and altered the delivery time for me with with...no fuss. Food wise, it was delicious. Generous portions of tasty beef, huge Yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes and delicious roast veg with some extra greens (not overcooked) and lashings of gravy. This is delicious hearty pub food at sensible prices with great service - right down to the lady who delivered it with a friendly smile even though we are not easy to find. We need to support our hospitality industry in these difficult times - The Vicarage is trying so hard and , I feel, more than deserves a good review and some repeat orders!More

Honestly, first of all couldn’t believe the review below. I can honestly say, we had an absolutely fantastic evening on Wednesday. They were extremely busy and ALL staff were amazing. From management to our waitress it was all on point. My partner and I had...a Ribeye steaks and they were cooked to perfection, prices clearly reflective of buying local produce, Which doesn’t happen as often as you think. Amazing cocktails, lovely atmosphere, all the staff were smiling, in which must be an extremely difficult time. Thank you for a great evening, we can’t wait to come back.More
