We have eaten at the Red Lion a couple of times, always good, great hospitality! We went for Burger Night and stayed for the music quiz, what a treat, the burgers were lovely as always. The quiz was brilliantly put together, we thoroughly enjoyed it,...well done Mandy, Daryl and the staff 👏👏More

We held an 80th Birthday party here at the weekend and it was the perfect place. We had a three course dinner for almost 30 people - we were pleasantly surprised seeing the menu options because it was such good value and on the night,...the food was amazing…really tasty and well presented. The steaks were cooked exactly how everybody asked for them. It was also a very good speed of service, no one was waiting too long but it didn’t feel rushed. The atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed and the service was superb - nothing was too much trouble. The whole planning process was easy and Mandy was very accommodating to anything that we asked. We would definitely not hesitate to have another party at The Red Lion.More

Sunday lunch was absolutely superb. Food was delicious. Beautifully presented. Attention to detail from the staff was second to none (particularly the lovely, friendly Charlotte). Definitely returning again next Sunday and many more to follow. Mandy and Daryl were excellent hosts. They have made the...pub look very welcoming with beautiful bedding plants and hanging baskets.More

Not been before so thought we'd try it out and really glad we did. It was pie night, home made good food and at £11.50 including a drink good value too. Really friendly staff and desserts to die for, what's not to like.

Visited on a Saturday night as a couple. We ordered the jerk skewers, chilli prawns, burger, pie, halloumi fries, onion rings, 2 x bakewell cakes, 2 x glasses if wine and 2 x cokes. All of the above came to £79. Positives: Drinks are really...good prices. Staff were nice. Hands down the best halloumi I’ve ever had. Pie was stuffed with meat Negatives: Starter portions were very small, especially the skewers (skewers) which made them poor value for money. There wasn’t half a breast/thigh between the two skewers. We will 100% be returning we loved it.More

Myself and my partner booked last minute after a day at Alton Towers. The place did not disappoint, warm welcome and excellent service and food. Even with a big party being in just before us the food was served in a timely manner and after...I forgot to order extra vegetables with my main, they were brought out within a few minutes of me asking. My partner ordered the cheesecake, which I had a bite of - 11/10 - best cheesecake we have had. If we are ever in area again, will be back.More

Looking at the reviews on here I can only think we have gone on a particularly bad night. The food I had wasn’t very hot, it tasted ok but like it had been kept in a warmer and not made fresh to order. The staff...were friendly and the building itself was nice. The menu looked good but the food, especially portion sizes were a let down.More
