My husband and I had a meal and both meals were disgusting. I had bbq chicken which was supposed to have crispy bacon on top. The bacon was just sloppy fat and the chicken was just gross. My husband had a beef dish in some weird sauce which looked like dog muck! Harsh but true. His salad looked about 10... More

Most of our party had the Sunday roast, which was available in 2 sizes. That's a really good idea and suited our group. I had lamb and the meat was delicious. Another friend had a crab cakes with salad and that was very generous. Service was good and the deserts looked amazing - but we were too full. I love... More

Seven of us recently visited on a Saturday evening. The bar was not busy so we ordered a drink and sat down. 3 of us ordered Bruschetta which is toasted baguette type bread with tomato, onion, basil, vinegar & olive oil. What we received was a roughly chopped red onion, some tomato, a splash of vinegar and olive oil with... More

Just a normal pub, landlord Keith is an ex-professional boxer. Been there many times, either with partner or with friends. Good food, well-priced and special reduced prices for old "gadgies" like me Mon-Thurs.

Great seniors menu can't do it at home cheaper. Clean good service great staff. Senior lunches Monday to Friday, most other pups only provide senior meals one day a week. Always busy, it's a good idear to book to avoid disappointment.

we used to drink in the Sportsman as teenagers, some 20-25 years ago, and it appears that it's only me that's changed! This pub could be a real draw, but it loses out to the newer breed of gastro pubs that are springing up on its doorstep. Food choice is dull and is presented a la seventies style, so if... More

We used to go to the restaurant once a month on a Wednesday when they did two steak dinners for £15.00. It was OK but nothing to write home about. It always seemed a bit dingy in there and sometimes the music was louder that we wanted whilst chatting. I went for a meal in September as I was passing... More
