Generally a nice lunch, it was extremely hot in the restaurant which made it quite uncomfortable. We opted for the restaurant as we we eating with our daughter and 1yr old granddaughter, so required the high chair, much easier in the restaurant, however our daughter has very specific dietary requirements and preferred to eat off the bar menu, her Dad... Had arranged to meet a couple of friends and for the ladies to visit a ladies boutique for a little shopping in Buckden, so we dropped into the George on the off chance for a lite bite and were delighted to find that it offered great coffee, bar food or restaurant meals. So we dropped the light snack idea and... More

Lovely Cream Tea but no spoon for the Jam or Cream Pot, plus had to ask for more cream and Jam as wasn't enough for three persons and we then got a spoon for the jam and cream pots.

Simply the best place to go, you can see the owners get what customers need. The manager was very helpful.

Had lunch with friends service was very slow I think because we were in the corner we were forgotten. Food tasted nice and the staff friendly, I've had bar food here before and it was very tasty. Will go again.

We eat here regularly on Sunday's but our last visit the food was distinctly average and after a three course meal we both didn't feel satisfied (usually we struggle to eat 3!). Also the menu was very uninspiring. Will try again and we hope it improves!

Nothing like their online menu! I was looking forward to Sea Bass but they could only offer battered haddock! The "Traditional Christmas Lunch" had no Brussels, no parsnips, a large amount of cranberries were already on the plate instead of being served separately!

We were very pleased with the hotel staff, rooms and the location. But the breakfast was very disappointing, the bacon and black pudding must have been cooked sometime before serving as it was like cardboard. Knowing that this breakfast would have cost £14.50 if not included in the night's stay is terrible, one of the worst breakfasts we have ever had,... More
