Dining at Cliveden really is an experience-it's not just the restaurant,it's the whole event. From the moment you drive up to the magnificent building you are treated like royalty by each and every member of the staff. I see that it's almost three years since we were last there for Sunday Lunch and the Chateaubriand is undoubtedly still the best... More

Beautiful restaurant overlooking the gardens. Staff are friendly, informative and from various parts of the world. Food was exquisite, delicious flavours and really well presented. Wine list has to be seen to be believed, it would take a full day to read it properly and some of the prices are breathtaking. The ambiance in the room is quite formal and... More

We went for a special birthday treat and boy was it a trae. Having been to The Artichoke in Amersham and other local fine dining restaurants, this restaurant was out of their league. From a jaw dropping entrance, lit water fountains, the grand house, the attentive staff, the ambient and quiet dining hall, the delicious food and wine - I... More

We went to Cliveden as I was given a voucher for a 3 course dinner for my birthday. We arrived early and were shown to a sofa near the log fire. Bowls of wonderful buttery olives and smokey almonds were brought and we ordered cocktails. My Astoria was very good and rather strong. The menus were brought over and we... More

but let's try not to be negative. Dining room is really quite opulent, in a kind of moneyed way, but although we counted about 15 people (so not busy and it got no busier) we were not asked whether we would have liked a choice of tables but shown instead to one in a corner where we waited. And waited.... More

Great place if you enjoy rubbing shoulders with rich kids, oligarchs and their lap dogs. Went for a glass of wine – chose cheapest option (quite nice) -- £36 for two glasses, including non-optional service charge. We were planning on a special meal there, but changed our minds. All too pretentious!

Our second visit here and delighted the chef has received a star. The house is magnificent and the dining room rests in equal splendour. Staff are attentive and professional and the food and wine exceptional. We all had the tasting menu, one was the vegetarian equivalent and one was gluten free. It was creative and delicious. Plates included venison with... More

Such a wonderful location for a long relaxing lunch. Four of us had the 7 course tasting menu. Each course was delicious and the portion sizes were perfect. A wonderful variety of meat and fish dishes, each one beautifully presented. The experienced and helpful staff explained the dishes succinctly and the sommelier was one of the most knowledgeable we have... More

Had lunch here on New Year's Eve and made a great end to the year. A lovely welcome at the door and invited to take a seat by the fire. As we arrived early we enjoyed the ambiance of the library with drinks and nibbles before lunch. Recommend the Cointreau Fizz. We had planned to have the set lunch, but... More

Last minute decision to try this restaurant, the weather was good and always wanted to visit Cliveden, not disappointed at all with the quality of the food or the service. The pre-lunch drinks were fine and the meal served by attentive but not overbearing staff. Some remedial works being carried out externally at the house at the time of our... More

Description
The André Garrett Dining Room was originally the Drawing Room of the house and is a stunning south-facing spacious room which radiates with sunlight and looks out over the nineteenth-century Parterre, the gardens and River Thames. Its classical elegance and fine works of art give it an enviable touch of romance, and bring the history for which Cliveden is famous to life. Lunch and dinner are served here, offering classic English dishes combined with Cliveden's extensive cellar book. At lunchtimes, chose from the Market menu which offers tremendous value or from the more extensive a la carte selection. At dinner, enjoy award-winning modern classic English cuisine with dishes brimming with fresh seasonal ingredients and local produce. Please note, jeans or sportswear are not permitted at any time. Gentlemen are required to wear a jacket for dinner.
