Popped in for a sandwich at 1.30 on a Sunday - café was busy and buzzing. We were shown to a table and given menus. So far so good. We'd barely browsed the selection of food on offer though when the waitress reappeared to take our order, informing us we could only order cakes and hot drinks. Bizarre as the... More

Stopped by for a late breakfast and was so disappointing. Had to ask to order, then ask twice for drinks. When our food hadn't arrived after 30 mins we asked where it was to be told sorry we burnt it and are recooking it! Would have been nice to be told this without having to chase it. Food then awful.... More

Good breakfast menu, great coffee and the daily papers. Service is always good, friendly and attentive but not overpowering.

This is a great place for lunch with an extensive lunch time menu with plenty of options to choose from. We both had the Club Sandwich which were very good indeed but we could see some of the other dishes other diners were having and they all looked good. Service was very good. The best lunch we have had for... More

My wife and I were passing on Saturday morning and wanted a coffee so we popped in here. Lovely pair of coffees in a really nice environment. Space and quiet despite multiple persons there. Only blemish was being told about breakfast after having said we didn't want any.

Popped in last week to have a simple bacon bap but were seduced by our neighbour's plate 'Cape Town breakfast' - two poached eggs, bacon, oven roasted tomatoes served with rocket on a toasted Cape Seed bread. A great choice - was as good to eat as to look at ... Well deserves it's high ratings on TripAdvisor and will... More

I have been here for an evening meal on several occasions and it has always been good. The menu is not extensive but has a reasonable variety and staff are always ready to offer advice. Dishes are quite individual and have a strong South African influence. The home-made bread is very good! The cafe is open all day and is... More

My family of five stopped here on the way up North for breakfast. We much prefer finding independents than stopping at Motorway services, and The Cape was one of our best finds! FOOD..... was gorgeous. Some of us had poached eggs which were all perfect. The menu has some South African items, we only tried the Redbush Cappucino which was... More

My husband thoroughly enjoyed his fresh smoked salmon potato rosti starter which was a very good portion size, followed by the well cooked braai platter complete with chunky, hot, fluffy chips. I enjoyed the interesting slightly sweet lamb babotie samosas following by the Kingclip, calamari, prawn and rice pan with a delicious garlic butter. All seafood and rice was cooked... More
