I had the calamari salad, which was fantastic. Very unusual lunch choice from myself, but I was greeted by a lovely looking plate and i ordered an extra plate of beans. Brilliant lunch.

What an amazing meal I have just had! Thank you Jo. It has been a while since we last went to The Cape and we were not disappointed. I had the Ostrich which was one of the best meals I have had ever. The combinations of flavour were amazing and I could have eaten the whole dish again. I didn't... More

The Cape must be one of the best kept secrets in Beaconsfield. The food has a South African theme. We have been eating in and around the area for many years and we have only just found it. However I suggest you book as it is only open two evenings a week - Friday and Saturday. From outside you could... More

This has always been my favourite cafe/restaurant but last night the meal was taken to another level - one of the best cote de boeuf dishes ever! The latest refurb is simply fabulous and provides comfort, space with the proverbial dose of South African quirkiness and glamour. Thanks Jo, Mark and team for consistently producing the best food/ambience in the... More

Called late Saturday morning for coffee and cake for the first time and a pleasant busy atmosphere. I had an Americano and lemon cake but there were lots of quite unusual cakes and deserts to choose from as well as wide range of meals and snacks. Well worth walking the extra 50 feet past Costa although a little more expensive!

I have been living abroad for a while and just moved back to Beaconsfield. I was welcomed to the Cape by friendly staff and management and taken into this cafe that truly lived up to the grand in the name. The owners have redecorated often and in my experience it is a sign of true dedication, they are obviously reinvesting... More

I took my daughter to The Cape for lunch as I've been several times before and always enjoyed both food and service. Not this time however.... My tuna, spring onion sandwich on granary was made up with a somewhat dry end slice from the loaf and not even a solitary lettuce leaf garnished the plate.. I could have made a... More

Angela, thanks for the feedback, however I am somewhat disappointed to read your negative comments on a sociable media review site when a quick word with the manager on duty who would have rectified your complaint. We can fix problems, if only you tell us at the time nothing is more damaging that reading about a complaint 2 days after... More

My husband and I went to The Cape for dinner and I can't speak highly enough about our experience. The food was wonderful. The balance of flavours in all of our dishes were spot on and our meat was cooked exactly as we asked for it. The service was effortlessly good and very welcoming. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing.... More
