Faultless service, delicious food and all round good experience. Saturday evening and the husband wanted to "go Italian" to celebrate his birthday. Relaxed drink in the foyer so food was ready for us when we entered the dining room. Interesting starter from the specials menu followed by a perfectly cooked calves liver, while the husband enjoyed a perfectly cooked flambeed... More

Me abd my husband visited Guido for lunch. The good was very good, but the best part was the dessert tray. It had such a good variety and very very tasty too. We were happy with the service also. Would definitely recommend.

This place has a pleasant, civilised atmosphere. Aperitifs were served before the meal at tables in the foyer and the service was excellent. The food was delivered promptly and was delicious, good value and expertly prepared. I have been here several times in the past and not been disappointed. The sweet trolley is highly recommended, especially the Tiramisu (not too... More

Be prepared for large servings of very tasty food. The house wine is very good but they also have a nice selection in the cellar. The staff are classic Italian, helpful and funny. It has been 6 years since we last visited the area and dined here, but the service and food has not changed - still very good !... More

We've been here a number of times down the years and brought different friends here with us. We went this week and had a very good meal. The service was good as always with good humoured banter to go with it. We sat in the garden for a drink for the first time - we must have always been in... More

I visited Guido's with my family dopa birthday lunch. We had a fabulous time. The food is fantastic. My daughter's fastidious Italian mama in law ate everything without a murmur of complaint passing her lips and an even fussier cousin of mine who for the first time ever cleared her plate! Even the young lads of the family were appreciative.... More

It's easy to dismiss Guido's: the building looks old fashioned, the staff have an average age of 86, the protocols are traditional, old-fashioned, even cheesy, like some distant memory of the restaurants your parents might have taken you to in the 70s on 'special occasions' for an extravaganza of prawn cocktail and black forest gateau. And Guido's is ALL that.... More

Excellent food with excellent old fashioned Italian waiters serving at your table. The desert trolley is so so nice.Went there with two best friends who said how wonderful the place was and what excellent choice of food on the menu.also some very nice starters including mango with salmon, schllops wrapped in bacon. the lamb shank was excellent.
