We were hoping for a nice evening to be able to sit outside but sadly the weather let us down. The dining experience on the other hand did not. We had a fantastic meal even with a fussy teenager. Portions were good sized and the food was well cooked. Server was excellent, paying great attention to when we needed drinks,... More

I have been to this pub twice in the past, and I have always been disappointed with the food and service. I live 2 minutes from The Gate in Chorleywood and I am a regular customer, often recommending to friends and family for the great food, service and atmosphere. After hearing The Pomeroy was now the sister pub of The... More

The location is ok, especially as you can park. The food is ok but middle of the road for a pub that serves food. Appropriately priced not to be too expensive but not stunning value either. The main problem here is the service. It is so laid back, slow and generally disinterested that quite frankly it is unacceptable in this... More

One of many visits - never fails to please. The pub restaurant has had a recent make over and is very prettily lit from outside creating a welcoming glow. There is also a very pleasant outside dining area now and exquisite inside decor. The staff are friendly and efficient and food very presentable and tasty. Ideal for family get togethers... More

So I went with my wife and two children for Sunday lunch - my wife tried to book a table for 12:30 but was told only 12:00 available, but we subsequently discovered the restaurant only half full when we sat down to dine. As we were seated we asked for a jug of water, which we finally received 25mins later.... More

The staff at the Pomeroy were very happy to help us organise a surprise 30th Birthday party for 30 guests in their lovely new conservatory space. From helping to choose a menu the guests could pre order from (to ensure no delays on the night) to encouraging some personalised birthday decorations they could not have done enough to make the... Very good decor. Totally disinterested staff. After waiting half an hour requested a menu from bar. Further twenty minutes asked if we needed to self serve, told someone would be taking our order nothing happened asked to speak to manager, she really was not interested, decided to go elsewhere and will not be returning. Management non existent.

Love the refurbed pub had a table in the conservatory which was lovely. Food was great and the menu varied and suited the 3 generations we had eating ! But the service from the kitchen was slow. It wouldn't put me off another visit but they do need to speed up a bit

Booked a table for 3 for Sunday lunch on 14th August on the basis of driving past the pub frequently and being attracted to the appearance, and the online menu. We asked to sit outside and were warned there was no table service outside so we'd have to order at the bar which was fine. The staff were on the... More

Visited here for a family meal in August 2016. Having had a good experience here about 2 years ago, was looking forward to our return visit. However, it was extremely disappointing, particularly with the quality of food, much of it being quite poor. Double fried chips were limp and not very pleasant, pea puree was overly minty, burger was greasy... More
