We couldn’t find a place to rent us a canoe for a single day until we found Quetico North! For only $25/day and the canoes were already located in Quetico Provincial Park. The ladies were incredible helpful and very sweet. If you have no need...for a rental make sure to stop in and try the butter tarts they are to die for! Also have a selection of coolers, beer, etc to top you up, snacks and as well as gas.More

On the highway between Thunder Bay & Ft. Frances. Mandatory fuel stop, especially in winter. Limited hours of operation, and very limited services or assistance. No longer a bus stop. Have a whiz, grab a snickers and lets go.

Let me just start by saying Quetico North is in the middle of nowhere, so fresh supplies may be difficult to obtain on a regular basis. However, they still should be able to maintain a menu that has good tasting, healthy choices on it... I've...had there burger a few times and it has been a swing-and-a-miss each time-- same goes for their fries. If you are a coffee connoisseur I'd pass as it ain't no full- bodied dark roast (this may have changed as I don't allow for mediocre coffee and gave up on theirs some time ago). Their pastries (when fresh) are some of the best. Hours of operation vary they the year so call first.More

Experiencing the mastery of Helen's buttertarts in the remote Boreal forest is truly representative of the food and service. People wake up early to drive 20 minutes to eat breakfast and get a good look at the moose.
