Yes, there are so many good reviews of this restaurant.......now I see why. From the welcome at the front door , the menu, great, great variety of foods with beautiful pairings if flavors, make this a winner. I had carrot potato flautas along with carrot,...orange, ginger juice. Amazing, loved it. Have to go back to try tamales and cauliflower tacos. Yes, I lean towards vegetables, but there are meat selections available. Across from convent toward end of stree tin last green house. Lovely garden out backMore

Little cafe in Sisal neighbourhood, opposite the San Bernardino convent. Great garden with plenty of tables and good wifi, perfect spot to relax with a book and some food/drinks.

How can this restaurant get in the top 10 restaurants in Valladolid? The blandest food ever; an insult to Mexican cuisine. Who created that menu? For whom? For people who are afraid of any type of seasoning. Places like this give a bad rep to...vegetarian/vegan food. With the amazing ingredients and dishes that Mexican / Yucateca / Mayan cuisine have to offer! What a waste of this great locale by the Ex-Convent. They could even make a good margarita (I was unable to go beyond a few sips). The service was also slow (and the restaurant was not even full). It was really a bad lunch experience. It didn't have to be a religious experience, but at least somewhat flavorful, taking advantage of fresh ingredients. I'm still in shock at how bad it was (tasteless). If you are seeking true Mexican flavors, you are better served by buying some street food. If you are vegan or vegetarian and want to try authentic Yucateca/Mayan cuisine, there is a great place in town. The lemonade was delicious though.More

We are not vegetarian, but love vegetarian dishes. We also had been eating heavier traditional Mexican food at night, and we knew for lunch one day in Valladolid we wanted something light and fresh. Yerbabuena was the perfect place! We sat on the patio which...is like a garden itself. The menu has a wide variety of options so I think vegetarians, meat lovers, gluten free, or those with medical conditions could all find something delicious on the menu. We tried the guacamole starter, yerbabuena water, vegetarian tamales, and enchiladas. My husband and I eat a fair amount of tamales in Mexico and back home in the U.S., and we both agreed these were the best tamales we have ever had. At the end of our Yucatan road trip, we also discussed our favorite meals of the trip and we kept coming back to this simple, but delightful lunch at Yerbabuena during our time in Valladolid. This is a must eat if you are staying in the area or simply passing through to see Chichen Itza. Service was great and they are taking COVID precautions!More

Exceeded expectations!!! I had read so many great reviews about this restaurant I was leery at first. However, we enjoyed everything from the appetizer to the drinks to the dinner! My husband even ordered dessert to go back to the hotel! Way better than anything...by the Square!More

Had I not known about this gem of a place in advance I would have missed it and the delicious dining experience. I knew I wanted to find a good, non touristy (potentially healthy'ish) restaurant on my drive back from Chichen Itza and this place...came up as an option at the Valldolid town. The town itself is a bit quiet and sleepy and didnt spend time there but just stopped for lunch. I arrived at 11am and the place was full. Seem it was full of a late breakfast crowd since they serve both breakfast and lunch dishes. I waited for 10-15 minutes and got seated. It was tough to choose since everything looked great on the menu but went with a nice vegetarian sandwich served on a whole wheat bun with a side salad (you can also get french fries) and wanted to taste their tamales filled with meat (also vegetarian option). They also have an extensive fresh juice and smoothie bar/menu and had one of the fresh juices. It seems the place is owned and managed by a couple and their love for food and service comes across well. It was very homey and enjoyable and glad I knew about it in advance to drive to it and have a delicious meal after the visit to Chichen Itza and prior to the drive back to Playa Del Carmen.More
