Beach and good lunch

Enjoyed the day there yesterday when the Brilliance of the Seas docked in Costa Maya. Angel prepared us beach chairs by the water and brought us 2 free margaritas ( strong blue ones). We ate in the restaurant outside-such a nice atmosphere. The only slight disappointment was when I ordered fish... read more

Lovely position with a nice terrace overlooking the beach. We went for lunch and it was nice, nothing necessarily wrong with the place but also wouldn't write home about it. Staff friendly and food good, terrace the nicest part.

When we arrived at 40 cannons we asked for "Francisco manager" as our paperwork indicated and no one knew who that was or what our package that we purchased was. It seemed very sketchy at first. Once they got it sorted out the servers were wonderful. The food was ok. It was not my favorite beach but it wasn't swamped... More

We have been to Mahahual a few times on cruise ships and once to stay there. On the ship itineraries this place is usually listed as Costa Maya, but it's actual name is Mahahual. For those arriving by ship there is an actual port just north of town, with many gift shops, restaurants and bars, but for a much more... More

We took a taxi for 5 dollars to el malecon and then enjoyed great margaritas and guacamole at this beachfront restaurant, we were there about two hours eating , drinking and enjoying the the beautiful beach. Great music, local vendors, and good food. This is the place to go in Costa Maya. And very cool breeze. Bathrooms are very clean... More

We arrived at Costa Maya via cruise ship and took a shuttle to the little town about 2 miles down the road. $3 per person. The entire little village is a strip a few blocks long entirely on the gorgeous beach. This restaurant is at the far end of the strip under a beautiful thatched roof overlooking the water. Our... Everyone told us if we were looking for a special place to celebrate, we should go to 40 Cannons. They were right. The atmosphere was special. White tablecloths overlooking the beach. It was a special place. Tim had the Ribeye and I had the Grouper. Both were good, but neither was something to write home about. However, the desserts were... More

We went to 40 Cannons looking for the beautiful beaches we tend to associate with Mexico. The sargassum has been really bad in this area and we were told the beach at 40 Cannons was clean. The water is clear and because the beach is clean, it is what you dream about. The chairs on the beach push you up... More

We visited Mahahual a couple of weeks ago for the second time and love it! We decided to try out the Pez Quadro beach club since their beach had been cleaned of the sargasso (sea grass) and many of the others had not. The view is great, near the big tree on the beach with several sandbars to lounge on.... More
