Spent the day at Jaime's at Blue Reef when we were on our MSC cruise. The place has everything...great food, endless drinks, paddle boards, kayaks, chairs under palm trees and so much more. The food is outstanding...best Mexican food ever. The staff is awesome. Juan-Israel...the manager made sure all day we had everything we needed. He is amazing and speaks great English. Alejandra was our bartender and makes the best drinks. The Pina coladas are to die for. Martin was everywhere...he made sure we had plenty to drink and plenty of food. If you want a relaxing day with great food and drinks then head over to Jaime's. Thank you to the staff for making our day one to remember.More

Jaime, and all of his people are amazing. From email communication to the in-person service. Juan and Digby were amazingly warm and welcoming. Alejondre our bartender made fantastic drinks. The area was quiet and relaxing, the menu was diverse. Food was fresh and tasty. They...have massage therapists, a roof top infinity pool, showers. Even the vendors who traverse the area(if you ever travel to tropical destinations you know what I mean) were respectful while still trying to earn their living. Everything was so great, we hated leaving. They really go above and beyond even the taxi service that they use offered great service, and they called back to Jaime's to let them know we had arrived safely. We will definitely be back.More

We spent the day at Jaime's while visiting Costa Maya as a port of call while cruising. The food was excellent and made from scratch, water was warm and clear and the service was outstanding. They made us feel right at home, were very attentive...and made sure our drinks were never empty. We loved the fact that they limited their guests to 28 people and we had our own table with shade and loungers reserved by the water. We had a great beach day with lots of food and drink. Facilities were clean! A special shout out to waiters Juan, Israel and especially Digby for making our experience at Jaime's so relaxing and pampered. They certainly took good care of us! I highly recommend going to Jaime's when visiting Mahahual and will definitely return again. Good food, excellent service, nice beach, and great value- what else could you ask for?More

The drinks were delicious, the food (ceviche) was fresh and tasty, and the staff was so friendly. A great laid-back vibe and atmosphere with the bar swings, and the view of the water! I hope I get to go back again someday soon!

First I will say the staff was so very friendly and helpful. The beach was nice and I loved the reserved spot. The drinks were great too! The food was okay, but I'm not very adventurous. My husband said the fish tacos were amazing! We...couldn't use the pool because they were working on it and the bathrooms were very small and hard to change in for bigger people. The view from the top was beautiful! I will come back again next time we visit! Beware of the taxi ride there... ours just kind of dropped us and we had to wander a little bit to actually find the place. They helped us get a taxi back to the cruise port.More

We booked the day at Blue Reef Hotel for our cruise stop after reading many positive reviews. The reviews were not exaggerated! Juan, Digby, Sarah & Alejandra could not have treated us better. Genuinely kind & attentive from start to finish. Honestly a few of...the best drinks I've ever had! The candied hibiscus, was incredible!! Juan was spot on with every recommendation. Thank you for a wonderful day.More

We spent the day at Blue Reef Restaurant and Beach Club when our cruise ship Ecstasy docked for the day. The beach cabanas offered shade when needed and the beach loungers provided time in the sun. The staff was incredible and very friendly. They accommodated...our every request with ease. First, Juan made us feel welcomed and right at home. He even hopped on his bike to replenish our beers when they ran low. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Digby also made our stay more enjoyable by being very attentive to our every need. Alejandra made sure our drink needs were quenched. Our group took advantage of the massage tables on the beach and were thankful to Juan for encouraging us to get a 30 minute massage. It was well worth the time and expense. We would definitely be back should our cruise itinerary take us there.More

This review is overdue, but the praise is no less deserved. We enjoyed such a relaxed and happy day at Jaime’s at Blue Reef and we would highly recommend it for anyone and everyone. This was actually our third reservation there, but the first time...we have been able to go due to the cancellation of so many cruises during the pandemic. Although it is a relatively fast taxi ride from the port, it feels like your are a million miles away - it’s old Mexico, not touristy Mexico, and the food and the hospitality are just perfect. He keeps the numbers down (unlike too many other day spots) so you don’t feel crowded and the service is never slow. Our servers that day were Juan and Digby - we have done a lot of all-inclusive day excursions in various parts of Mexico, but never have we run into the kind of genuine friendliness that these two offered! They kept us well fed with delicious homemade dishes while Ricorda kept made sure that we had all the drinks we could want. And Jaime comes around often to make sure everyone is happy and content. And we were! We are definitely scheduled to return in May 2023, if not sooner, so keep our loungers warm as we will be back.More

This great little spot on the beach is a perfect place to relax, eat, drink and enjoy the sun. The all-inclusive menu offers a great selection of local food, and my family loved all of it. Their drink menu offers some fun cocktails along with...the usual selection of local beers. Our server Juan was friendly, helpful, and never seemed bothered that we kept asking for more... and more. Oh yeah, and my kids loved having free kayaks to use. Can't recommend this place enough. Well worth the money we paid.More

My husband and I spent our shore day in Costa Maya with the staff at Jaime's. It was a last minute changeby our cruise line itinerary, but they thankfully had room for us. I appreciate that they have a cheaper all-inclusive price for those of...us who do not drink alcohol! Food was excellent - we had a fish taco, chicken fajitas, and chicken nachos. The mocktails we had were tasty and they happily kept us hydrated with bottled water. The water stays clear of seaweed thanks to the fence area, which I appreciated. The beach club next door does not have a fence and they had a huge mess of red seagrass on the shoreline. Juan and the whole staff were super friendly, quick to help and attentive to our needs. The food did take a little while once we ordered, but it was peak lunch time and they were busy. I regret that we did not realize there was a rooftop pool and views to experience, so we will have to come again to check that out.More

We set up our reservation via email with Jaime who was very responsive. We paid a small deposit to reserve our spots. They provided good instruction on how to get there from the pier (a short taxi cab ride away). Once there, we got set...up on nice cushy loungers with an umbrella - very comfortable for beach chairs. The drinks and food offerings flowed with Juan and Digby (and bartender Alejandra!) making sure we were having a phenomenal time and every need was met. We got to meet Jaime himself - a very nice man who obviously works very hard to ensure the guest experience is the best it can be. The food was delicious. It didn't always look how we would expect being from the US, but boy did it taste amazing. The netting they have up to help prevent the seaweed from washing ashore helped tremendously to keep the beach and water clear of it. We also enjoyed the limited capacity, it truly was a relaxing beach day. The live music wafted comfortably from the restaurant to the beach area without being intrusive. We would recommend Jaime's and we plan to go back to Jaime's. In fact, the next day in Cozumel we did a highly regarded all inclusive and found the experience lacking in the shadow of Jaime's at the Blue Reef. Thanks to all for setting the bar so high and for adding to the magic of our amazing vacation. You all are awesome and we can't wait to get back and do it all over again!More

This is a great little place to spend the day when your ship is in Costa Maya. They are extremely responsive to emails, taking a small deposit which guarantees a reserved space with chairs & sun protection in the heart of the Malecon in Mahahual....Their beach is not over-crowded and the drinks, food, and service are outstanding! From the pier, a <10 minute taxi ride for $4pp gets you to Blue Reef hotel. We met Jaime, who is extremely personable, and Juan & Digby waited on us all day. I noted each of them taking orders and jogging back and forth to fill them. That's the kind of service you get at Jaime's.More
