We are regular visitors to Mahahual and mainly stay in the casitas and prepare our own breakfasts, however with Covid - we felt that eating out whenever possible was the best way to get some money back into the economy and we are delighted that...on day 2 we ate here. All for one price we enjoyed a very generous cup of fresh strong coffee, fruit water (the Sandia is wonderful) a slice of the most delicious butter cake and a healthy portion of scrambled eggs with your choice of protein/veg and beans. just off the Malecon it's a lovely way to start the day and the owner Antonio is a delightful man to talk to, 10/10. We'll be back for sure.More

100% mexican. combo breakfast including coffee/tea, cake, juice and a main dish to choose. AMAZING. Sandra runs the best place in town. She's always quick, efficient and smily. Make the small effort of reading the menu in Spanish, is absolutely worth it. For an average...of 120pesos, less than 6 dollars per person, you get an amazing breakfast that fills you thup along the day. Thanks Sandra and Dario, it's been the highlight of our holidays!More

We went there 3 times while in Mahahual. Twice for breakfast and once we picked up sandwiches (tortas). The service was excellent and the food was authentically Mexican, flavourful and delicious. Breakfast comes with a small piece of spiced cake, fruit smoothie , coffee and...many different choices of eggs etc. We had the huevos rancheros, divorciados and the enchiladas. The chicken torta was huge for 45 pesos and very satisfying.More

This is one of the rare places that seems to focus on the needs or the locals rather than invaders from cruise ships and is all the better for it. Above all it is truly Mexican and run by two ladies with little English and...a passion for what they do.More

I go to Colonial at least twice a week for my breakfast torta. I get eggs, cheese and bacon on a nice fresh crusty bun and it’s always delicious. MMMMM!!! The staff are all sweet, charge proper prices and give proper change.

It‘s a great place to have breakfast! Delicious food at an affordable price! They have breakfast packages that include coffee or tea, juice/smoothie, a piece of pie and the main breakfast dish of your choice. 100% recommendable! JUST A MUST :-) And very friendly staff...and fast service. BTW: the pictures are from my visits 11th and 12th of August 2018.More

The restaurant is adorable! The service excellent! The food even better. Breakfast comes with butter cake and your choice of entree, refried black beans, a frozen smoothie, coffee and and fresh crusty bread. We had huevos rancheros, with perfectly cooked eggs, and omelette with jamon...(ham) and cheese. Everything was delicious prices are extremely reasonable! Highly recommend a stop for breakfast when you’re in Mahahual!More

We'very only eaten breakfast here, but it is absolutely wonderful. They have all kinds of crepes, eggs, whatever you like. Each day they have a different kind of homemade fruit wather they call it. It's like a frozen slushy with fresh fruit.
