We ate brunch at Que Onda, which we stumbled upon on our walk toward Yalku Lagoon. It's located on the north end of Half Moon Bay just a few minutes walk from the lagoon (on the jungle side of the road). The food and service were very good and the ambiance is wonderfully peaceful and pleasant. The venue is mostly... More

One night we didn't want to hop in the car and travel several kilometers to a restaurant and we found this jewel just a few blocks away. It is Italian cuisine at night and they they do a really good job of it. Most are pasta dishes and some include seafood as you would expect right on the coast; although... More

We had eight of us come here after snorkeling for a couple of hours. The food was good, and a pretty decent value for what you got. This is the type of place you could easily pass up on the road and not even realize it was there. I would suggest giving it a try. Lunch was good and refreshing.... More

We ate at the torta stand 3 times for lunch and had tacos on Sunday. The tortas were top notch and the guy at the register was fun. He loved explaining each type. My son said the hamburger was the best be had in Mexico. You can't miss taco Sunday.

Amazing food and service. Pastas were fantastic. Seafood spring roll appetizer very good. The Tiramisu is the best I have had. Seriously! (Note that they DO NOT take credit cards!)

Had an outstanding meal last evening at Que Onda. Ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer, delicious, and made perfectly. I had the calamari in white sauce and it too was outstanding. My wife had the eggplant Parmesan and she loved it. Service was excellent, and ambiance top notch. We will return!

We stayed at one of the many condos along Half Moon Bay which is within walking distance of Que Onda. It made for a nice evening walk there and back. The over-all feel of the place is great. Laid back with mis-matched chairs, friendly service and tucked back into a natural setting. Good food, good prices, good service.

Beside the usual fare, the tacos are prepared from meats roasted on a spit near the road. Pork or beef tacos are muy delicioso, and very reasonably priced. Have a couple cool drinks and a couple tacos (try both) and you'll be on your way to a perfect Sunday afternoon in Akumal. When you're finished eating, take a short walk... More
