We stayed at Hacienda de la Tortuga, right above this restaurant, and despite having a lovely kitchenette and balcony were regularly tempted downstairs to enjoy a drink, snack, or meal at La Lunita - all the dishes were great, and it was wonderful to sit right on the beach, often bathed in moonlight by night. The beach in this part... More

We have been to this restaurant before and it was just as good this time around. I had the lobster ravioli-delish! Husband had grilled fish. Very good too! Go here if you can.

We stayed at Hacienda de la Tortuga. La Lunita was in the same building. So it was very convenient for us. We ate here several times. My favorite dish was the tuna chalupas.

Strongly recommend the Chile Relleno. This place is a little more expensive than other options, but quite frankly it's probably worth it. Different menu and more upscale setting!

Excellent food and service, and you can't beat the location. Everything we had, from the French fries to the ceviche was excellent. Daily happy hour 3-5 with 2 for 1 drinks. Tasty tamarind margaritas, mojitos, etc. A definite must stop in Half Moon Bay.

We walked to the restaurant from our condo and enjoyed 2 great meals there. All of the ceviche they offer is amazing and out of this world! The tuna was my personal favorite. Great environment, service, and overall dining experience.

This is by far the best restaurant in the Akumal area. The menu has a fabulous variety of dishes. It is a great change of pace when you get sick of chips and guacamole. It is a romantic beach side setting (can be a bit breezy). We have visited several times and have great food and service on both occasions.

We had high expectations - it is supposed to be the best restaurant in the area (certainly the highest price). Our first time and we thought should it be a special occasion. We took friends who were visiting. Sadly, he ordered a Peruvian ceviche (terrible, yellow and with a strong sour taste - nothing like ceviche in Peru). Then the... More

We come to Akumal every year for our anniversary, and La Lunita is always the first place we have dinner and where we eat on our last night. Everything about it is five star, whether it's for lunch or dinner or just a cocktail. It's not your Texas chili-cheese nachos type of place. It's genuine Mexican cuisine. Don't miss it!

We spent 12 nights in the La Mirage Condos which is next door to La Lunita and had dinner there 4 times and lunch twice. Everything we had was really good. From guacamole & chips, fresh ceviche, Friday night Lobster night, fish tacos. You sit 30 feet from the ocean. Its perfect. The service is great. I like margaritas and... More
